Charlie Walton: An illness bug has hit the Wolves’ locker room. Jaylen Clark and Terrence Shannon Jr. pop up, and they are questionable tonight. Anthony Edwards (right knee) remains questionable.

There's also Phoenix Suns' Jalen Green (who has barely played this season due to injury, but averaged 20.9 points over the past three seasons), Minnesota Timberwolves' Jaylen Clark, Denver Nuggets' Jalen Pickett and Brooklyn Nets' Jalen Wilson. That's 14 players, with a balanced mix of stars and role players; guards, wings and bigs; and scorers, shooters, rebounders and defenders. In other words, a team made up of Jalens could win plenty of games. The numbers agree. According to the projection system run by ESPN's Kevin Pelton, if these players all joined forces, Team Jalen would project for the best offense in the league and a 55-27 record.

He looked at the bench’s soft performance in the first 10 games as a personal indictment. He is proud of what he has done here, proud of the folk hero status he has earned in the fan base. Now 26 years old, he has taken it upon himself to mentor the younger players in the second unit, such as Rob Dillingham, Jaylen Clark, and Terrence Shannon Jr. “This is my group, and this is what we have to do,” Reid said. “I know what I have to do to get us going, whether it’s keeping the score going up towards the positive side, or getting the lead back. It’s how I became who I am, and how I became Sixth Man, and put myself in those (positions). So I know what it takes, and I’ve got to lead.”

Jon Krawczynski: Jaylen Clark available. That’s a big development

Jon Krawczynski: Jaylen Clark (calf) is out tonight, per Finch

Jon Krawczynski: Jaylen Clark now added as OUT with left calf tightness, per Wolves.

Delon Wright, signed just before the start of preseason camp, suffered a head injury in a collision with Minnesota's Jaylen Clark in the first half of the Pacers' overtime win over the Timberwolves in their first preseason game on Tuesday night. On Thursday morning, the Pacers announced on their social media accounts that they waived Wright and have signed veteran point guard Cameron Payne, who was Wright's teammate with the Knicks last season.

The Timberwolves do have a few young guards and wings, including Terrence Shannon Jr., Jaylen Clark and Rob Dillingham, who the team believes are ready to step in and take Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s minutes should he move on. The Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons and Miami Heat are among a number of teams to watch in the hunt for Alexander-Walker.

Christopher Hine: Chris Finch from pregame tonight on Jaylen Clark: "The first regret I had the other night is I should've played him 20 minutes instead of 12."

Christopher Hine: Anthony Edwards on what he told Jaylen Clark tonight: "The play he made today ... by our bench in the second half was crazy. I told him you look like Pat Bev when he was 26."

The Minnesota Timberwolves are shoring up their roster ahead of the stretch run, converting two-way guard Jaylen Clark to a standard contract while planning to pick up notable free agent guard Bones Hyland. The Timberwolves have agreed to a fully guaranteed, two-year deal with Clark, the 6-foot-4 swingman who has showcased tremendous energy over the past month, his agent Todd Ramasar of Life Sports Agency told ESPN on Wednesday.
