Wolves GM: Matt Lloyd: "The opportunity came up to sign Jonathan Kuminga, which again was the product of many, many phone calls and a lot of time investment. My wife asked me at one point, how many times has he called you? She was referencing Jonathan Kuminga's agent. How many times have you been on the phone with him since the middle of July? So I said, okay, I will look, and we went through my phone and we had 94 phone calls between July 15th to the day we signed Jonathan. Anthony Edwards was really instrumental in recruiting him to come here. We had several conversations with him, his representatives, and from Chris Finch to Tim Connelly to Alonzo Gee, who is on our staff, everything just came together."
After several teasers during his 2026 “Believe That” Asia tour this past summer, Anthony Edwards’ third Adidas signature shoe has officially been unveiled. The Adidas Anthony Edwards 3 will launch starting this Friday in the blue-based “Cold Blooded” colorway.
In addition to the sneaker’s debut, the brand has created a new sketch show dubbed “Minnatlantasota,” which premiered on Sept. 12, and new episodes will launch on the 5th of each month throughout the upcoming NBA season. The show features Edwards alongside various Adidas athletes and comics.

Tyrese Maxey: "I was going to class every single day. My biggest thing was I want to have a great freshman year. My mom was big on school, I'm big on academics, so I was going to class every single day. We played against Anthony Edwards, we knew he was going to be a number one pick. I had 19 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 blocks, 2 steals. The next day we had class at 8 o'clock in the morning and I think it snowed."

What do you feel Ant’s role will be mostly on defense? I know he can shine in high-leverage situations but I’m just talking here about regular rotation minutes. If he’s somebody you want working a crucial role on defense sometimes, or is it better for him to conserve energy for his explosive offense? Finch: I think we are going to need him to get back to being a more high-leverage defender for us. His on-ball handling duties (on offense) will be reduced, which was probably the most taxing thing for him last year. I also feel that for him to have an MVP season, he has to have more of a defensive component.
Your lead assistant coach Micah Nori is gone (to be a head coach in Portland). Finch: Micah of course; the staff changes have happened as well. But the tentpoles (Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels) are still here. And we like that. But I think it will be good to take those guys back to the beginning, too. And they’ve got to be part of the journey and impart more knowledge, understanding and expectation. And hopefully that lifts the accountability piece for everybody. Just getting LaMelo to understand how we do things and the urgency with which that needs to happen. I’m kind of excited about that dynamic and watching it play out. I’m excited about kind of putting myself forward again. I’ve spent the last few years trying to lean into the development of coaches giving everybody a voice, kind of growing together, giving everyone a role.
Draymond Green: "Patrick Beverley said on the The Analysis podcast that he helped ignite the winning culture in Minnesota. He said I really put on for the city of Minnesota. I don't know if people know this, but they hadn't missed the playoff, they haven't missed the playoffs since I got there. I'm not saying it's all me, but I started something in Minnesota for sure. I just want to remind Patrick Beverley that when he got there, young Ant-Man was there. Now, what I will say is, you can't take credit away from Patrick Beverley because Patrick Beverley brings a certain mentality to a group. And for a young talented player like Ant-Man to see that mentality and say, ah, okay, and also get that first taste of the playoffs, it then set you up for the future. So I'm not going to come on here and say, oh man, Patrick Beverley is tripping. I do want to remind him that a young Ant-Man was on his way."
Who are your current top five players in the league? Danilo Gallinari: Current Top 5, I always, I guess I always go with the old heads first: Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James. And then I put Anthony Edwards and Nikola Jokic.
Jon Krawczynski: "He ingratiates so much faith and trust from his teammates because of the way he goes about it and because of all that he's seen in this league. Anthony Edwards, I swear every game you would walk into the Timberwolves locker room after the game, Ant is sitting right next to Mike Conley and they're going over everything that happened and what Mike saw that Ant could have done better or what he liked. He is a guy who just really has a perfect way of delivering messages that help raise a player's performance, whether Mike is on the floor helping him do that or just on the bench or in the locker room steering him in the right direction as well."

During a recent segment Anthony Edwards filmed with FI star Kimi Antonelli, the Timberwolves guard described his trash talking methods, and how that extends to his teammates when they’re on a roll as well. “A lot of players don’t talk trash but I do. If I’m scoring a lot of points, I’m talking crazy! They can’t guard me out here man! He ain’t it. I be talking a lot of trash,” Edwards said. “I talk trash for my teammates too. If my teammate is having a good game, I’ll talk trash for him. I’ll be like, ‘don’t say nothing, I got you!’”
Andrea Kimi Antonelli: "And which is your favorite place to play?" Anthony Edwards: "Well, of course home or Madison Square. Madison Square, TD garden, New York, Boston, Philly, and Atlanta at home. But it's hard to play in Madison Square Garden too. Great place. It's hard to play there. You got to be ready for that. Boston is the same way New York is."
Anthony Edwards: "A lot of players don't talk trash, but I do. If I'm scoring a lot of points, I'm talking crazy! They can't guard me out here, man! Find somebody who can guard me! He ain't it. I be talking a lot of trash. I talk trash for my teammates, too. If my teammate is having a good game, I'll talk trash for him. I'll be like, 'Don't say nothing, I got you!'"
