Joe Ingles -- a five-time Olympian and 12-year NBA veteran -- plans to join Melbourne United ahead of the 2026-27 NBL season, multiple sources told ESPN. Ingles is currently in the midst of an NBA playoffs campaign with the Minnesota Timberwolves; once his season is complete, there's an expectation that the 38-year-old will finalise a deal with United in Australia's NBL.

One of Australia's longest serving NBA players, Ingles has long harboured a desire to finish his career in the NBL, with both Melbourne-based teams -- United and the South East Melbourne Phoenix -- of interest to him, sources said. Ingles began his professional career in the NBL with the now-defunct South Dragons in 2006. "The club is in contact with Joe and we'd love to sign him to a contract if the opportunity presents itself following the completion of the NBA season," a United spokesperson told ESPN.

Joe Ingles has interest in returning to the NBL, and the growing sentiment is that he's keeping a close eye on both Melbourne teams. Ingles has spoken with both United and the South East Melbourne Phoenix, while the Adelaide 36ers appear to be the most proactive team chasing the five-time Olympian. Ingles is in his 12th season in the NBA, currently playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Dash Daniels is eyeing a move away from United, and the South East Melbourne Phoenix have emerged as the favourite to land the Next Star. The 18-year-old is one of Australia's budding NBA prospects and the younger brother of Dyson Daniels; he averaged 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for United. The Victorian has met with the Phoenix, and the expectation is they're the frontrunner to add him to their program.
United, the Perth Wildcats, and Brisbane Bullets were the other NBL teams pursuing Dellavedova, sources said; he informed them of his decision on Sunday morning. Dellavedova had conducted visits to his free agent suitors over the past week, sources said, beginning in Perth, before traveling to Sydney and Brisbane. He was seeking a high-priced, multiyear deal that would keep him contracted through to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The Los Angeles Lakers have decided that Bronny James will only participate in G League home games, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. "He's only going to play in the South Bay Lakers' home games. He's only going to kind of be a part-time G League player, and he's not getting on United Airlines to fly to these road games," Windhorst said on the Hoop Collective podcast. "I know he's getting somewhat special treatment and nepotism. That's fine. Honestly, I don't care. Like I said, it's normal.

“So I sat in Newark Airport, watched the place close down and then almost start to reopen again. So from like 5 p.m., they threw me out of the [United Airlines] lounge at around 10:30 p.m. when it closed and then I just went and sat downstairs until I left about 3:30 in the morning. “That seems to be how the Clippers and 76ers work together, late into the night.”

TMRW Sports, the parent company of TGL, has thus far announced Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Boston as three of its six inaugural teams. The Atlanta club is owned by Atlanta Falcons and United owner Arthur Blank, while Boston Red Sox and Liverpool parent company Fenway Sports Group own TGL’s Boston team.

President Joe Biden will announce Thursday that he is appointing more than a dozen top education leaders, celebrities and athletes to his board of advisers on historically Black colleges and universities, the White House said. Actress Taraji P. Henson, NBA star Chris Paul, and United Airlines president Brett Hart are among the 18 members of the President's board of advisers on HBCUs. Paul was until last year the longtime head of the National Basketball Players Association.

Matthew Dellavedova: "The body is feeling great. That's the main thing, I feel like I just need to put a good chunk of time together training but also games. Playing a lot of minutes and having the ball in my hands, making decisions and things like that. I'm going to have a great opportunity to do that with United. A shorter season, long preparation of preseason with the season being pushed back is going to allow me to put a good chunk of work together and be in really good shape and condition."

Each ring-inspired design will be released daily from July 26 through July 31 (on sale at 11 a.m. CT, 8 a.m. CT if signed up for priority access) with 91 uniquely encoded versions of the 1991 design becoming available for purchase on July 26, 92 versions of the 1992 design becoming available on July 27, and so on. Within each of those drops are tiers assigned at random: Legendary (six per ring design), iconic (23 per ring design) and rare (the rest). Collecting multiple of each tier can lead to prizes; for example, collecting a legendary-tier token from all six championship years can win a “Bull for a Day” experience, which includes courtside seats to a game and shooting hoops at the United or Advocate Center.

Russell said another reason he decided to sell the items was to provide a portion of the proceeds for the Boston-based nonprofit MENTOR, which he co-founded more than three decades ago. The group’s aim is to strengthen mentoring relationships. An additional donation will be made to Boston Celtics United for Social Justice, which focuses on addressing racial and social inequities in the Boston area.

Jock Landale revealed he has received “a lot” of NBA interest this season, so he wants to perform in the finals for United to secure a contract.
