While the Timberwolves have agreed to trade Mike Conley to Chicago, a team source says the deal is still being finalized. The Wolves are attaching a first-round swap in 2026 to get off Conley's contract and save more than $20 million in luxury tax payments.

Yossi Gozlan: It looks like the Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to get under the luxury tax. They reduce their tax penalty from $24 million to $3.9 million by dumping Mike Conley Jr. They are just $3.9 million above the tax.

An arbitrator on Monday ruled in favor of Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier in a salary dispute with the NBA that arose after he was federally indicted in a gambling investigation, sources told ESPN. Rozier's salary, which had been held in escrow since December, will be released after the arbitrator found that under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, players cannot be put on unpaid leave other than in cases of domestic abuse or child abuse, sources familiar with the ruling said.
The Heat and NBA agreed to put Rozier's salary for the 2025-26 season in escrow after Rozier was arrested and indicted in October as part of a federal gambling investigation that also ensnared Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups. The NBPA appealed the agreement to withhold his salary, which is approximately $26.6 million.

Shams Charania: The Washington Wizards are signing center Skal Labissiere to a 10-day contract out of their Capital City affiliate, agent Daniel Hazan tells ESPN. Labissiere enters a sixth NBA season after being a first-round pick in 2016. He has shot 55% from field and 44% from 3 in G League.

Derek Bodner: Sixers officially announce the signing of Charles Bassey to a 10-day contract.

Shams Charania: The Philadelphia 76ers are signing big man Charles Bassey to a 10-day contract, sources tell ESPN. Bassey is in his fifth NBA season and has averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds for the NBA G League's Santa Cruz team this year.

The Philadelphia 76ers have a decision to make with their roster. Because of an obscure rule in the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, two-way players Dominick Barlow and Jabari Walker are currently not allowed to play in another game this season despite each having been on the active list for 50 or fewer games, the maximum allowed.

The rule will be enforced starting Monday at Charlotte. The "Under-Fifteen Game" rule states that for teams carrying fewer than 15 players on standard contracts, two-way players can be active for a total of only 90 games. Barlow, Walker and recently waived Hunter Saliss have played a combined 90 games for the 76ers this season. The 76ers can get around this rule by using their open roster spot to convert Barlow or Walker to a standard contract or by signing a player to a 10-day contract to get their roster to 15.

Scott Agness: Pacers signed center Tony Bradley to a second (and final) 10-day contract. Game 2 of a five-game road trip is tonight in Philly.

Shams Charania: The Los Angeles Lakers are signing guard Kobe Bufkin to a 10-day contract, sources tell ESPN. Bufkin has starred for the Lakers' South Bay NBA G League affiliate and spent some time with the Grizzlies this season.

Bobby Marks: A friendly reminder that the players involved in the Atlanta/Washington trade can’t be aggregated in another deal. They can be moved separately but not combined with other salary.
