Anthony Slater: Chris Finch said Anthony Edwards’ left knee came through Game 1 well to this point: “So far, so good.” Edwards will get light work and treatment later today in San Antonio. No word on whether he can up Edwards’ minutes beyond that 25 range in Game 2

Jon Krawczynski: Chris Finch rather displeased with missed goaltending calls on Victor Wembanyama. He says at least 4 should’ve been whistled. “Do you know the value of 8 points in an NBA game?” He said that was 33% of Wemby’s blocks and asked if I would be happy with 33% raise. Why yes, Chris, I would.

Oh No He Didn't: Chris Finch on Wemby: "He had a lot of blocks, he had a couple of uncalled goaltendings too. Those are valuable points we'd like to have back"

Jon Krawczynski: Chris Finch on Matt Lloyd missing out on the Bulls job: "Congrats to Bryson Graham. I worked with Bryson in New Orleans for a number of years. He's a class act and an outstanding talent evaluator. I'm sure he will be a great pick for the Bulls. "Gunning for Matt. He's one of the best executives I've ever worked with anywhere I've been. He's an absolute rock star when it comes to that, from running processes to connecting with people in the building, to positivity to leadership, to being able to manage up and down. It's only a matter of time until he gets his chance, I'm convinced of it. These are really hard jobs to get, highly coveted. Lots of things go into them. We're fortunate to have him here and he's been a huge part of our success."

Tom Petrini: "One of the most naturally gifted and built athletes that I've ever been around, not just with this. His running and jumping ability, which was is obvious. What you can't see is his robustness and how just naturally strong he is." Chris Finch on Ant's recovery.

Anthony Slater: Anthony Edwards is officially playing, per Chris Finch. He said there will be some sort of a minute restriction. Wouldn’t reveal if Edwards would start. “I don’t know.” Finch on his quick return: “He loves to play the game.”

Tom Petrini: Chris Finch said he didn't have a sense that Ant could play in Game 1 until yesterday. "We felt it would be mid-series, you know, at best case scenario, Game 2."

Michael Scotto: Timberwolves coach Chris Finch: “Our guys took it personal. Denver had the chance to pick who they wanted to play coming down the stretch and they chose us. We used that as motivation. They didn't have to choose us. They chose us. Our guys were up for the challenge of that.”

Addressing the future of coach Quin Snyder, whose contract has only one season remaining after this one. Snyder, remember, was one of five NBA head coaches under contract that the Knicks unsuccessfully requested permission to speak to last June after the dismissal of Tom Thibodeau along with Dallas' Jason Kidd, Houston's Ime Udoka, Minnesota's Chris Finch and then-Chicago coach Billy Donovan. Snyder did not receive an extension in the immediate aftermath of New York's approach like Udoka, Donovan and ultimately Kidd, but extension talks are mostly certainly expected soon after this season … whether or not Atlanta can keep it going Thursday night.

Stacey King: This is what I can’t stand about these old school coaches! You’re in a winnable playoff series and you’ve lost your franchise player to injury and a key rotational player as well but you’ve pick now to send a message to your 2nd best athlete on the team? Ok he missed an assignment sit him down a few minutes explain what he did wrong and put him right back on the floor? By benching him in a playoff series you destroy his confidence! He’s still developing give the kid a break! Terrible!!!

Dane Moore: Chris Finch said after Game 5 that Terrence Shannon Jr.'s minutes were limited in Game 5 due to gameplan mistakes. Finch was asked at practice today how he goes about helping Shannon clean that up. "I don't clean that up. He cleans it up. It starts with gotta be ready, he's gotta be engaged, he's gotta be fully committed to that side of the ball... The only way I can clean him up is to sit him on the bench, right? That's the only way I can clean it up. He knows what we need from him right now. So he's gotta be ready, and he's gotta be ready to execute defensively. There's no reason that he shouldn't be a good defender with his body type, with his athleticism, and he's a pretty smart player."

Dane Moore: Asked Finch at practice today about what Gobert's involvement in the offense needs to looks like in a world without Edwards. "I didn't like our screening. I didn't think we screened well as part of our execution. I thought it was part of our soft mentality the other day. That's certainly a place where Rudy can be involved offensively... And Rudy will be involved in the game offensively. He can go to the glass. We can still find him in the roll, no doubt. But primarily he needs to keep the defense up."

Dane Moore: Chris Finch when asked about his communication with Donte DiVincenzo following his injury cited Jayson Tatum's comments. "Jayson Tatum's comments I thought were super classy, kind and compassionate. Mean a lot. I know Donte has heard them. And he's been such a great example of what's possible."
