Dane Moore: Thought this was an informative answer when Chris Finch was asked about the possessions where Rudy Gobert drops catchable passes and how his players handle those possessions. "They know not to look to me for sympathy if Rudy drops one of their passes, because sometimes he's going to. I tell them to keep throwing em. We have to. It pays off more than not... I'll take some of those turnovers if we're trying to make the right play."

Jon Krawczynski: Chris Finch: "As far as replacing Ant, it's almost impossible to replace a player of his caliber. We've just got to lean into the collective good like we did last night and hope it's good enough."

Duane Rankin: "Everyone knows coming down the stretch there are so many twists and turns for everybody, you can't really predict. No matter what happens here tonight, both teams are alive and well." Chris Finch as Suns are just two games behind T-Wolves for 6th in West. Has tiebreaker. #Suns

Chris Finch said you have another DPOY campaign. What do you think you’ve shown so far? Rudy Gobert: “I do think when it comes to impacting a team on that end of the floor, I do think that I’m up there. I know there are still a lot of games left. Well, not a lot. But there’s plenty of games left. That’s who I want to be every night – being the most impactful defensive player in the world. A lot of the things might not show up in the stats. It’s about communicating with my teammates. It’s about persuasion. It’s about being able to guard everywhere on the floor. I’ve been able to do that at a high level in isolation. It’s about winning plays. I’m trying to bring that to my team every single night.”

Finch said you’re the best isolation player in the league and that he can play you in all situations. How do you view that? Rudy Gobert: “I agree. I’m a competitor at that over the last few years. I’m comfortable now guarding anybody anywhere. The team needs me to be able to do that. So I take on that challenge.”

Jon Krawczynski: Chris Finch on Rudy Gobert: “I think he’s far and away the leader for defensive player of the year.” He may receive some disagreement on that front. He points to Rudy’s impact when he’s on the floor as the game changer for the Wolves. "His ISO defense has been the top or near the top all year long. He drives our defense. The on/off numbers for us speak volumes to his importance. … He takes our defense to a whole ‘nother level. There’s nothing he can’t do defensively."

Hyland stepped in, averaging 9.5 points and shooting 49 percent from 3 over the last 10 games — a huge boost for a team that hasn’t been able to create any dependable scoring off the bench other than Naz Reid. “I love having him on the team,” Wolves coach Chris Finch said. “He’s the same every day. He’s a super happy guy. He’s one of these guys who brings joy to the game in the way that he plays it.”

Dane Moore: . @JaceFrederick asked Kyle Anderson where Chris Finch ranks among the coaches he's played for in terms of understanding how Anderson plays his game. "I would say No. 1. I would say No. 1, for sure... It kinda sucks when you play for a coach that doesn't understand it."

Mike Curtis: Chris Finch on how fast the NBA can change, given the fact the Mavs & Wolves met in the WCFs nearly 2 years ago: "I think we've seen it before. We've seen it with Memphis. I think you have to embrace the opportunities when you're there. For one reason or another, things might change quickly on you. It's not a coincidence the league's had 7 (different) champions in 7 years. Every reason to believe that there will be another new champion just because the league is so competitive & fluid. Things change really, really fast & you kind of gotta go for it when you've got that chance."

Chris Hine: Chris Finch on Rudy Gobert's comments (1/2): "Anybody who knows how we do things knows there's a high degree of accountability. Secondly, I handle all my conversations with ourselves in house. Disappointing he felt the need to go outside. Nonetheless, that's been addressed ...

Chris Hine: Finch (2/2): "... already today. There's never been a team that's won anything meaningful that has substituted their way there."
“We just give him too much runway,” Finch said about the Wolves’ defense on Williamson. “Guys backed off and let him come right at them because he’s a handful if you do that. It’s in the scouting report, push up, take his runway away, be in the gaps, show a crowd, and we just seem reluctant to do that.”

Dane Moore: Asked Chris Finch about how Ayo Dosunmu's skillset will be of value to the Wolves offense, specifically the ability to both shoot and play off the catch. "We need more guys that can break the paint... He's shown incredible offensive growth in his time in the league... With Julius and Ant, he's gonna have to be very comfortable off the ball... Might be a little bit of a dynamic that he's not used to... I told him today, 'do your thing, we'll figure it out -- don't overthink this, don't overcompensate.'"
