Mike Breen was calling Game 5 of the 1994 Finals for WFAN, which was the radio home of the Knicks from 1988-2004. “The O.J. game is still one of the memories I will never forget, because I called it on radio and it was one of the most bizarre nights I’ve ever had calling basketball,” Breen told Deitsch. “The game starts and we had a TV monitor in our booth as well. And now NBC goes to the split screen and everybody is talking about it. At halftime, people weren’t talking about the basketball game – a critical NBA Finals game – they were talking about O.J. And I’m calling the biggest game of my life.”
During her interview, which was done by fill-in host Desus Nice, Buss was asked about the weirdest thing she ever experienced during a Lakers game. It was at this point that she revealed that her unforgettably odd incident involved the one and only OJ Simpson: “The weirdest thing was right after OJ Simpson was acquitted,” Buss said. “… So he came to a game, and he illegally parked at The Forum. So, his car was towed. You just can’t get away with everything.”
Wanna live like a King? You can buy the enormous Brentwood mansion LeBron James called home ... if you're willing to drop $20 mil! The NBA superstar has listed the 9,500-square-foot estate he purchased back in 2015 -- a colonial-style mansion on Rockingham Ave. And, if that street sounds familiar ... it's because of the O.J. Simpson connection. Bron's home is actually just a few blocks from the infamous Rockingham estate where O.J. lived when Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman were murdered in 1994.

Mayo told team officials he suffered the injury when he tripped and fell on stairs at home. Kidd said Mayo will undergo surgery. The veteran guard missed Wednesday's game against Miami due to illness and Kidd said Mayo visited the doctor earlier that day. "Anytime someone is sick, unless you're going to play we keep you home," Kidd said. "Then the next day we get the call that he tripped and hurt himself, that he was going to the hospital. "There are going to be stories. Everyone is going to have an opinion. But we can only go on what O.J. told us, and that's what he told us."
Lamar Odom needs some legal firepower after his DUI arrest, and its OJ Simpson's lawyer Robert Shapiro to the rescue ... TMZ has learned. Lamar has hired Shapiro in what promises to be a sticky situation. TMZ broke the story ... Lamar was popped early Friday AM on the 101 Freeway ... and cops believe he was under the influence of both drugs and booze.
That’s part of the learning process. And Cuban believes Terry’s development in Dallas should be an example for Mayo. “They’re completely different players, but I think O.J. can learn a lot from Jet,” Cuban said. “Jet really got better when he became catch and shoot or one dribble and shoot. I think that’s something that O.J. needs to add to his game, and I’ve told that to him.”
Mayo’s work ethic is one thing that can’t be questioned. That’s the primary reason Cuban believes that Mayo, who is extremely likel to exercise his right to be a free agent again this summer, can improve drastically. “What I love about O.J. is nobody works harder to get better,” Cuban said. “Not just on shooting, which everybody works on, but his knowledge of the game, his dedication to the game. It’s really, really surprised me how committed he is.”

(Mayo) never fit the culture of the team. I spent some time with those guys in New Orleans last week and the story there is this… they have a very tight nit group of guys led by Zach Randolph and Tony Allen and they set the tone for things and OJ never accepted that, and pushed back on almost everything. It was not a good fit culturally… now Rudy Gay was very tight with OJ, but OJ never fit into with the other guys because he didn’t want to. Rudy is fitting in better with those guys this year and I think thats why they are having such success.
Said owner Mark Cuban on Mayo: “I think he can be a star and I think O.J. knows that this is his make-or-break, who-am-I-really-going-to-be-in-this-league year. And Coach [Rick Carlisle] is going to give him that opportunity. We’ll see what happens.”
Even Cuban, who once deemed Beaubois untouchable in terms of a trade, acknowledged that Beaubois' progression has been slow. "He should be [farther along], but once he got hurt he didn't recover quite the way we had hoped," Cuban said. "But I think that's in the past now and so he'll have every opportunity. We'll find out. We're not going to pre-judge. He's going to get a chance to play and if he outplays O.J., he'll play instead of O.J. If he outplays Darren, he'll play instead of Darren. It's very Darwinian."
