No. 7 still garners a raucous reception every time he is announced to the home crowd on the scoreboard at Madison Square Garden. “Wanting to be in New York and wanting to accept and take on that challenge, I understood the assignment, and I understood what I was up against,” said Anthony, who set the Knicks’ franchise record with 62 points in one game in 2014. “I understood the people, as far as how they hold you, how they look at you and how they receive you. “Win, lose or draw … we’re talking about the Mecca of basketball. Our city, so nice they named it twice. So for me to come and represent that, and do it with such grace and such respect and take whatever comes with that, I was willing to do that.”
Ben Simmons has generated interest from the Knicks and another team but is also questioning whether he even wants to continue playing in the NBA next season, The Post has learned. The former All-Star and Rookie of the Year, who has struggled recently with injuries and handling the public pressures of the league, is an option for the Knicks because of his upside as an elite defender and athlete to fill their backup point guard spot, a league source said. However, Simmons, who has accumulated DNPs the past few seasons, and over $200 million in career earnings, is sending a message that he isn’t sure “if he wants to continue,” another source added.
Dan Patrick: Is there something in there with Jalen Brunson? Pablo Torre: Well, look, how he arrived at the Knicks, this is where I will have to defer to the reporting I may or may not do on this. Certainly was interesting, right? Like, okay, that's a pretty good deal for the Knicks. Anyway, I don't want to get ahead of myself in terms of. Patrick: That's a tease, though. That's a tease. Torre: It's a bit of a tease. I'm showing a little ankle with you. I always show a little bit more ankle than I should with you. By the way, subscribe, like, and subscribe. But the thing about how often this happens is a really fascinating question because I would argue that it doesn't happen to this scale and with this level of documentation, which is only enabled because of the collapse of this fraudulent company. The other stuff, look, historically, right? I was assuming because I'm maybe dumb, like you would give a stock tip or something, right? Like have someone else be multiple degrees away. You wouldn't do it through a company that has its signage on your building, but that's what our sources say is exactly the thing that happened.
Meanwhile, New York Knicks power forward Guerschon Yabusele (29) is the most experienced player in FIBA competition, having already played in the previous EuroBasket, World Cup, and two Olympics. "I'm not worried about what people say. I'm just working. We go game after game, and we'll see how it goes," Yabusele, now the team captain, brushed off concerns about inexperience. "Those young guys have a lot of energy," he went on to say. "They bring a lot of great things to the team, and I am just having some fun when I'm on the court with them."

France took their third win in Group D at EuroBasket 2025, defeating previously unbeaten Poland 83-76. New York Knicks newcomer Guerschon Yabusele put on a show in a crucial win for France, scoring a national team career-high 36 points (12/20 FG, 6/12 3PT), while adding 6 rebounds and 2 blocks to his tally.
You often defended Melo throughout his NBA career when he got criticized in Denver and New York. How George Karl and Phil Jackson’s criticisms about Melo land with you? Boeheim: “Well, the thing I think about the NBA is that he made every team that he was on better than they were. Whether it was Denver or the Knicks, he made them better. They had to go up against the Lakers and the Spurs in Denver. They couldn’t do it, but he made the team better. That’s all you can do sometimes as players. You can’t make a team a championship team by yourself. You have to have a lot of parts to it. His time in Denver, there were some great teams with the Lakers and the Spurs. He made them better, and that’s all you can do as a player.”
After an impressive showing in the Olympics and one season with the Sixers, Guerschon Yabusele has the chance to be a leader in the French national team during the Eurobasket and hopes that he can make a difference also in New York. Speaking to Israeli outlet “One” after the defeat to Deni Avdija and co, the French forward also talked about his NBA future. As he said: “The Knicks are truly a great and magnificent club. I can tell Knicks fans that my DNA is very suitable for them. I bring passion, sometimes also anger, war, and aggression. I can promise them that I will help the team achieve as many victories as possible. There is a good team this year, which wants to reach the playoffs. I can definitely help with that task.”
While he admitted that the EuroLeague level of play is not far from the NBA, he also said that a comparison between the two leagues is not easy to make: “The game is really completely different; people always try to compare, but it’s always difficult. They’re separate worlds. I think the Euroleague is getting better every year, and it’s not that far away anymore. Every year, there’s more talent and more ability there. Of course, I still watch and miss it. I can’t say I want to go back, because I dreamed of coming to play in the NBA, but I definitely enjoyed playing in the Euroleague as well, and it’s a great league.”
Josh Hart: Na haven’t picked up a ball since game six. I will next week though ✊🏽

An esteemed member of the NBA coaching circle believes Tom Thibodeau’s dismissal was nonsensical. “Should he have been fired? Hell no,” Ty Lue, the current Clippers coach, said on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast. “I mean, it’s the first time they’ve been to the conference finals in 25 years. Twenty-five years! And so, the city was on fire, the fans were on fire. The players did a hell of a job. And Thibs did a hell of a job. And to take a team to their first [conference finals] in 25 years and then get fired, like, it just doesn’t make sense.”
League sources say that four primary teams have been in contact with the sharpshooter's representation in hopes that Malik Beasley can eventually be signed. They are Cleveland, New York, Minnesota and the incumbent Pistons.
I'm told Brogdon has also been on the radar for both the Knicks and the Timberwolves, which (as noted above) are two of the teams that have been monitoring Beasley's status. Word is that the Wolves are also actively trying to work through the financial details involved in re-signing Bones Hyland.
