While teams across the league have called on Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, and Donte DiVincenzo, league sources say, the Timberwolves have highly valued those players and are resistant to parting with them. McDaniels has been deemed virtually untouchable unless it was for a star such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, league sources told HoopsHype.

According to some of those NBA folks, the names that have been attached to the Lakers as potential trade targets are Dallas’ Naji Marshall, a former Doncic teammate, Cleveland’s De’Andre Hunter, Minnesota’s Donte DiVincenzo and Sacramento’s Keon Ellis. New Orleans’ Troy Murphy III and Herbert Jones are two players the Lakers have shown some interest in — as have many other teams — but NBA people say the asking price is so high that teams are waiting to see if that comes down by the deadline next week.

Dane Moore: Thought that might have been the Wolves best game of the season outside of their win over OKC - Had a serious, detailed approach all night - The 3 best players all had good games in the same game (Ant had 33, was potent offensively; Randle had 23-10-4, filling in where Ant needed; Gobert had 13 and 12, was a force all night) - Overcame Gobert foul trouble without cratering defensively - Good ball and body movement for the majority of the night (even against the Miami zone) - Naz and Bones gave real sparks off the bench - DiVincenzo didn't shoot well but clearly impacted the game (was a team-high +24) - Not much from McDaniels or Clark (but MIA doesn't really have a point of attack guy that McDaniels and Clark are typically sent at) Wolves 125, Heat 115

Recently, a report appeared that the New York Knicks are interested in working on a potential trade to bring back Donte DiVincenzo to the Big Apple. But from what veteran Knicks insider Ian Begley found out, there hasn't been any clear indication that the franchise will attempt a reunion with the fan-favorite guard. "I've dug around on this a little bit, and I have not, from either side, haven't heard that there's anything significant going on right now," Begley said on The Putback. "And basically, both sides are kind of downplaying the possibility of it. "Neither side sees it as a realistic endpoint right now."

Jon Krawczynski: Donte DiVincenzo: "Tonight we just settled down with the lights on. we made big plays. When we stay together, we stay composed, it doesn't matter who we have on the floor. When we're a unit and we're together, we're really damn good."

Jon Krawczynski: Donte DiVincenzo: "We understand the last couple games haven’t been our best performances at the end of the game. But I think tonight, we didn’t rush. We didn’t get frantic. We stayed together. We got good looks and guys made plays."

Little by little, the real Naz Reid is emerging. He put up 22 points and 12 rebounds in 22 minutes in a 120-96 wipeout of the reeling Dallas Mavericks on Monday night, two nights after he had 19 points in a loss to the Denver Nuggets. “He’s a starter coming off the bench for us. He’s one of the best bigs in the league,” said Donte DiVincenzo, who scored 14 points and was a plus-35 in 26 minutes. “The way he can space the floor, the way he can handle the ball, it gives us such a unique wrinkle to what we can do. We can play him with so many different guys.”

Donte DiVincenzo recorded a new personal best in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season with 25 points, helping the Minnesota Timberwolves take down the Brooklyn Nets in Barclays Center on Monday. Following the game, the 28-year-old guard revisited gaining Italian citizenship and falling narrowly shy of representing Italy in EuroBasket 2025. “Pride and relief. Long process. A lot of different people put in a lot of hours to get it done. And I’m very thankful for everybody that was involved in the process,” he talked about getting an Italian passport. “Health and everything need to line up, but that’s the goal, the commitment,” he added in a postgame media session, confirming his intention to play for Italy in future FIBA tournaments.

Chris Hine: Donte DiVincenzo, with a smile, when asked how he thought his first game went: "Ass." "But it's Game 1, lot of games to get better from and watch film. I'm ready for tonight."

Chris Haynes: Sources: Minnesota Timberwolves will award Donte DiVincenzo the starting point guard spot to open the 2025-26 NBA season. Mike Conley will remain a vital piece. More on The Association on @NBATV at 5pm PT.
