But the 2006 finals remains Dwyane Wade’s basketball masterpiece, one that saw him join Michael Jordan (1993), Rick Barry (1967) and Elgin Baylor (1962) as the only players with four consecutive 35-point games in the league’s championship series. From Games 3 through 6, Wade scored 16 more points in the paint than any Mavericks player. “Bottom line, in the finals, it was kind of Jordan-esque. It really was,” Mourning told The Athletic of Wade’s performance. “He averaged almost 40 points a game in the finals. That’s getting it done. And it just took the others to kind of come together and do their part — you know, me, Shaq, (James) Posey, J-Dub (Jason Williams), Udonis (Haslem), and Antoine Walker, all of us. “We contributed in our own little ways from that perspective, but D-Wade was phenomenal to watch. He threw us on his shoulders. He just carried us.”
With game-time temperatures hovering near 90 degrees, things got a little heated between a Florida softball fan and the family of UF-turned-Texas Tech second baseman Mia Williams. A Florida Gators fan was ejected after an altercation that involved Williams' younger sister and her father, former UF and NBA star Jason Williams.
Initially, it was Jason Williams who was escorted out of the stadium by campus police. Williams claimed his daughter and Mia Williams' sister was struck by a fan with a handheld fan while the family was celebrating a Williams' hit. Jason Williams returned to the stadium shortly after while police later escorted the UF fan out the stadium.
Interviewer: What are the worst cities to play in? Where did you hate going? Jason Williams: I didn’t like playing in Milwaukee. I didn’t like playing in Portland. Interviewer: Why not? Jason Williams: Just because it was always raining in Portland. Yeah. I mean, the people are great.

Jason Williams on Jared McCain: How many folks you’ve seen out there with painted nails look fluid? Let's be real. Q. There's Jordan Clarkson. Williams: I got nothing against buddy. I just ain't he doing too much extra and ain't doing what he's supposed to do. Q. But he stopped, he like really slowed down the TikTok sh*t this year and he got worse. Williams: But that's what he's known for. He ain't known for the three-point shooting. He ain't known for nothing about basketball. He’s known for TikToks and white fingernails.
Jason Williams: 30 general managers will take Landry Shamet over Jared McCain. Q. Landry Shamet’s a vet though. Williams: Every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'm just saying Landry Shamet’s name because you used him earlier. And Jared McCain must not be able to play. Why would the Sixers give up on him like that?

The Heat at Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks at Kaseya Center will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise’s first championship, won in 2006. Expected in attendance for the night, which will offer a halftime presentation and other game elements of commemoration, are 2006 Heat champions Earl Barron, Michael Doleac, Udonis Haslem, Jason Kapono, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O’Neal, Gary Payton, Wayne Simien, Dwyane Wade, Antoine Walker, and Dorell Wright. Fellow Heat 2006 champions Jason Williams, James Posey, Derek Anderson and Shandon Anderson will not be in attendance.
Jason Williams continued to question the fellow former NBA star about his hot take. “Deeper than the bench from where? NBA?” he asked. When Beverley responded, “Yeah,” Williams doubled down on his disbelief. “No, deeper than that. 1994 DuPont High School in West Virginia [Williams' high school basketball team] would beat the WNBA All-Star team today.” Beverley insisted that “the Aces are beating y'all.” He didn't let up on Williams. “A'ja Wilson is giving Big Billy problems.” Williams then stood ten toes down to defend his point. “And what's Jay Williams doing to Wilson on the pick-and-roll?” he said back. “If she's getting 30, I'm getting 60!” Williams was so sure of his opinion that he boldly claimed, “I'm willing to bet my life.”

Bobby Jackson: Jason Williams was extremely talented and he was a risk taker with his flashy passes and his ability to get the crowd on their feet. Like I ain't never seen one person electrify the crowd like he did. Now because he was that risk taker, it kind of drove it drove Rick kind of crazy. Then Mike Bibby comes in. You got this point guard that knows how to settle everybody down and he knows how to get the ball to the right guys in the right spots and he's not flashing. J-Will was a crowd pleaser and Mike was a game dominator.
On June 28, Jason “White Chocolate” Williams will make his way to Laredo for a youth basketball camp from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Border City Sportsplex.
Mark Cuban: "Delonte West… he’s fallen on some hard times. It’s been brutal with mental health illness. I thought we had him. I thought we had him turned around. We sent him down to Jason Williams’ place in Florida, and it’s like a farm. He’s making progress, sending pictures, emailing me, and I’m like, 'Yeah, we’re getting this.' Then Delonte throws his [expletive] over the fence and disappears. We bring him back again, he makes progress, and the same [expletive] happens. There’s only so much you can do. Mental illness is real. It is real, and you just don’t wish it away or rehab it away. I’ve got other friends I try to help, and you want to see them get better, but you can’t help on everything. Some things are just beyond your control."
