Miami Heat: OFFICIAL: The Miami HEAT have acquired a second round pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers (Lakers own 2026) and a trade exception in exchange for Max Strus. As part of the trade, the HEAT is exchanging second round picks with the San Antonio Spurs as Miami will receive a 2027 second round pick (least favorable of San Antonio/Houston/Indiana/Miami/Oklahoma City) and the Spurs will receive a 2026 second round pick (least favorable of Oklahoma City/Dallas/Philadelphia) that Miami received in the KZ Okpala trade in 2022. Additionally, Cedi Osman, Lamar Stevens, cash considerations and a 2030 second round pick (Cleveland’s own) are also going to San Antonio as part of the transaction.
Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources: The Kings are waiving forward KZ Okpala, who’ll undergo a season-ending surgery. Okpala, the 32nd overall pick in 2019, played three years with Miami before joining Sacramento this season.

Marc J. Spears: The Kings have guaranteed reserve forward KZ Okpala’s contract for the remainder of the season, a source told @andscape. Okpala has started in three of 25 games he’s played for the Kings this season.

Earlier this week, a league source told The Bee the signings of Okpala and guard Quinn Cook had not been finalized. The source said both players were still expected at training camp Sept. 27 while noting things could change given the fluid nature of roster decisions this time of year.
