Josh Lewenberg: AJ Lawson is questionable for tomorrow’s Game 4 with back spasms. Quickley is out, of course. Rest of the injury report is clean for the Raptors.
Ryan Wolstat: Wol-stat of the day: RJ Barrett and A.J. Lawson are the fifth and sixth Canadians to play for the Raptors in the post-season. Joining Cory Joseph, Chris Boucher, Khem Birch and Dalano Banton.

Shams Charania: The Toronto Raptors are converting two-way guard AJ Lawson to a standard NBA contract for the remainder of the season and the playoffs, Todd Ramasar and Mike Simonetta of Life Sports Agency told ESPN. The hometown product is in his second season in Toronto.
But in rewarding Key, the Raptors pushed the decision on which of their active two-way players they’ll convert (Chuck Hepburn is still recovering from knee surgery) down the road even further. According to multiple sources, the Raptors initially planned to convert one of Alijah Martin or AJ Lawson in mid-March when their salary cap position would allow it. But they veered from the plan – first to sign Markelle Fultz on a 10-day and now Key.

Michael Grange: As expected, Raptors waive Tyreke Key. They now have open roster spot. Presumption is they convert one of their two-ways, either Alijah Martin or AJ Lawson, so they are post-season eligible. My understanding as of Thurs was it wasn’t clear which of the two it would be.

Josh Lewenberg: Barrett will play tonight. Mogbo, Martin and Jackson-Davis are on G League assignment (the 905 have a playoff game today). Appears Lawson will be available for the Raps in Detroit.

Blake Murphy: AJ Lawson is back for Raptors 905 this morning as they look to finish the G League Tip-Off Tournament portion of the season at 14-0.

Michael Scotto: Just In: The Toronto Raptors and AJ Lawson have agreed to a two-way deal, league sources told @hoopshype . Lawson, a 25-year-old Canadian native, averaged 9.1 points in 18.7 minutes during 26 games played for Toronto last season.

Michael Scotto: Just In: The Toronto Raptors plan to waive AJ Lawson, David Roddy, Jared Rhoden, Olivier Sarr, and two-way player Ulrich Chomche, league sources told @hoopshype .

Josh Lewenberg: The Raptors have 14 players on guaranteed contract, with one open spot left on the regular roster. Darko says they’re still not sure if they’re going to fill it ahead of the season. Weighing their options. Would think AJ Lawson is the favourite if they decide to sign one more.

Josh Lewenberg: Jonathan Mogbo is back for the Raptors’ semifinals game vs Sacramento today. AJ Lawson (Bilateral Hip Adductor Strain) is out. Chomche replaces Castleton in the starting lineup, with Shead, Walter, Battle and Murray-Boyles.

But as many mentioned during a week of games in Las Vegas, a three-year NBA veteran is supposed to have a big impact on Summer League games; if he didn’t, that’d be a cause for concern. So as good as Lawson has been, it’s unwise to even pencil him in for a roster spot — “lots of basketball between now and training camp cuts,” one executive warned. The same point is being made about the entire Raptors roster. They’ve certainly played well and the team’s defence was outstanding through the first three games but, as a handful of executives pointed out, it’s a team that includes seven players who spent time in the NBA last season and if they weren’t successful that’d also be a cause for concern.

Michael Grange: AJ Lawson's new deal with the Raptors is for the rest of this season -- so Saturday and Sunday, and non-guaranteed for 2025-26. Gives a well-liked and promising development prospect a little extra money in his pocket for this year and likely some guarantees for the summer and training camp.

Kayla Grey: AJ Lawson told me that Luka Doncic was one of the first people to text him congratulations today. Says that speaks volumes about his character: “ Everybody just seen Luka on the court and see how great he is. But he also a good guy off the court too, showed a lot of love to the city, always took care of us — I really appreciate him on that.”
