Mason Jones -- a 6'4 American shooting guard -- is finalising a deal with the Perth Wildcats, sources told ESPN. Jones is coming off a season with the Stockton Kings -- the Sacramento Kings' NBA G-League affiliate -- as a two-way player, where he averaged 23.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game, while shooting 44.7% from 3PT (on 8.4 attempts a game). The 27-year-old led the Kings to the 2025 NBA G-League Championship, and was named the G-League Finals MVP.

Australian club Perth Wildcats were offered NBA veteran Patrick Beverley

Several big names have already been linked to the Perth Wildcats as they continue shaping their roster in search of an import point guard. It’s a process that has drawn plenty of attention, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc. “Last month, the Wildcats were offered 12-year NBA veteran Patrick Beverley, sources told ESPN, but chose not to meaningfully engage,” Uluc said.  Beverley has played over 650 NBA games and most recently suited up in Israel before deciding his next move. The 2017 All-Defensive First Team selection and two-time Second Team member had fans raising eyebrows, as reports of his potential link surfaced this week. “Former NBL guard Travis Trice was also offered to the Wildcats, sources said, but he was another option they weren't interested in,” Uluc continued.

At 37 it begs the question: what is his motivation to travel across the other side of the world to play in the NBL with the defending champion Illawarra Hawks? For McGee, the answer is simple. “I was in the NBA for 16 years and I always had a hint of jealously towards the European players because they get to go to different countries and really explore,” said McGee, who has played alongside future Hall of Famers LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant throughout his stellar NBA career. “I never really had that opportunity, so when this opportunity came up to come to Australia ... I jumped straight on it.

“I’ll be bringing nothing but championship-winning calibre basketball with a little sprinkle of excitement and a lot of dunks and block shots for sure. “I mean, if you are a fan of me, you know what I do, so just bringing what I do to an organisation that is already a championship organisation.”

Fanatics has lost its appeal against FanFirm Pty Ltd., a small Australian company, to sell Fanatics-branded apparel products in Australia, following a lengthy litigation process that began in 2010. Until last year, Fanatics LLC sold licensed sports apparel under the Fanatics brand for major U.S. sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL) in Australia via its website. In contrast, FanFirm has held trademarks for “Fanatics” across several classes, including clothing and sportswear, and has held “first user” rights in Australia, being active in various forms since 1997.
