The Memphis Grizzlies have been in the trade rumor mill in full swing over the last week after it was reported by ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania that the team was open to trading point guard Ja Morant. The reports come amid what has been the worst year of Morant’s career thus far, with his efficiency numbers and overall production dipping severely. The Grizzlies are currently in Berlin for a game on Thursday against the Orlando Magic, and earlier in the week, cameras caught Morant having a heated confrontation with teammate Vince Williams Jr. at a team shootaround.

The Grizzlies have upgraded Ja Morant (right calf contusion) to questionable for Wednesday’s game against Phoenix. Santiago Aldama (right ankle soreness) and Vince Williams Jr (left patellar tendinitis) are also questionable, and Jaren Jackson Jr (illness) is probable.

“Well, we know that obviously the organization part is going to be hard for us,” Iisalo said. “Vince is a good player, Vince Williams, but we have four point guards ahead of him injured right now. And, against a team that’s well-organized and very aggressive in the full court, that makes it very tough. But we got bullied on the boards. I think we gave up almost 40 second-chance points against a team that’s not particularly big or bigger than us. Transition game, that’s one thing, but in the halfcourt we were late for several actions, unable to communicate or arrive with the ball. Basic things. It started out early, obviously, with two early timeouts. And we then had stretches, but nothing consistent.”

Michael Scotto: Memphis Grizzlies guard Cam Spencer has now secured the most guaranteed money coming off a two-way contract, surpassing Grizzlies teammate Vince Williams, according to @hoopshype research.

“The sample size is the sample size. It's not just a couple of games,” asserted Jenkins. “Guys have been in the rotation. Jaylen, thankfully, broke the lid open in the fourth quarter (vs. New Orleans). I think (Vince Williams Jr.) is getting great looks. (GG Jackson) is getting great looks, Ja has got great looks. I mean, whether it is variance or not, we have got to keep putting the work in.”

Law Murray: The Memphis Grizzlies report that Ja Morant (knee) and Vince Williams Jr. (knee) are questionable for tonight at LA. FWIW, two-way contracts Yuki Kawamura and Zyon Pullin are available.

Matt Infield: Pretty significant Grizzlies injury report for tonight: -Ja Morant has been upgraded to QUESTIONABLE with his shoulder injury -Marcus Smart and Vince Williams Jr. have BOTH been upgraded to doubtful, their return could be coming -Desmond Bane out with left ankle soreness

Law Murray: Ja Morant did not travel to Atlanta but he will be available for Monday night's game vs the LA Clippers. The Memphis Grizzlies report that Marcus Smart, Jay Huff, Vince Williams Jr., and GG Jackson II are out.

The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the following medical update for wing Vince Williams Jr.: Williams Jr. continues to progress well in his recovery from a Grade 3 right ankle sprain that he sustained during the Grizzlies’ game against the Denver Nuggets on November 19. He is expected to return to play within 3-6 weeks.
