League sources continue to pinpoint Charlotte's Brandon Miller as the top contender to join a club that, to this point, features only Wallace, San Antonio's Victor Wembanyama, Utah's Keyonte George, Golden State's Brandin Podziemski and twins Amen Thompson (Houston) and Ausar Thompson (Detroit).
Only four players from that class have already secured extensions as the deadline draws ever closer: No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio), No. 16 Keyonte George (Utah) and twins No. 4 Amen Thompson (Houston) and No. 5 Ausar Thompson (Detroit). The strongest candidates to join that list in coming days, league sources say, are No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller (Charlotte), No. 6 Anthony Black (Orlando), No. 10 Cason Wallace (Oklahoma City) and No. 19 Brandin Podziemski (Golden State).

Keyonte George on what impresses him about Darryn Peterson's game: "I think just how fast he picks up on things. Obviously, in this league, it is split second. You can make that mistake and it is over. I think for him, we talk about different things whether it is picking roll, or iso spacing, or even little things with our jump shots. He picks up on it right away and he is always willing to learn. So I think that is the main thing, coming in as a high pick and still humble enough to still want to learn."

Austin Ainge: "Leadership is different. Sometimes we have a narrow definition, and Keyonte George is a really happy, nice person. He gets along with everybody and he shows up for everybody. He's maybe not a screamer and a yeller type of guy, he's not a taskmaster, he's still very young learning his own way in the league, but he shows up for everybody, he is there for everybody, he is smile and work ethic every day. That's his way of leading and that's awesome."
Guard Keyonte George has agreed to a five-year, $157.5 million contract extension with the Utah Jazz, sources told ESPN. The deal does not include a team or player option, sources said. The terms were finalized Friday after months of negotiations between George's agent Jason Ranne of The Team and Jazz president of basketball operations Austin Ainge. George's new deal will account for approximately 16 percent of Utah's salary cap.
