Duane Rankin: Suns injury update at Pistons: Devin Booker (left ankle sprain) OUT. Royce O'Neale (left bicep contusion) AVAILABLE. #Suns

Duane Rankin: "It's usually by people who probably didn't play a team sport or just don't understand the landscape of the NBA." Devin Booker on receiving criticism for sharing the ball. "You need everybody on the court to be a threat. You need everybody confident at the right time of the year and it all starts right now." Royce O'Neale on Jordan Ott being a Coach of the Year candidate: "He has a way of connecting with the players. Putting us in position to succeed offensively and defensively. Connecting us. He's also willing to listen."

Duane Rankin: Last Two-Minute Report on Devin Booker desperation 3-point shot as time expired in Suns 119-116 loss at Golden State. INC (Incorrect Non Call). Explanation: Collin Gillespie's (PHX) pass goes off of Royce O'Neale's (PHX) hands and into the backcout, where Devin Booker (PHX) illegally retrieves it.

Duane Rankin: "Chaotic. Crazy. Everything in between." "We were right there." Mark Williams and Royce O'Neale on Suns 116-114 loss to Lakers. Jordan Ott on Last Two-Minute report: "Game's over. I've been through it multiple times. They do their evaluation afterwards, we do ours. Doesn't change anything. We'll move on. We've got to get better."

The Phoenix Suns’ most impressive possession in Monday night’s 121-98 win over the New Orleans Pelicans unfolded without star guard Devin Booker. In fact, only two starters were on the court when Allen released his deep jumper. He was one. Forward Royce O’Neale was the other. “It was almost a shot-clock violation,” Suns coach Jordan Ott said. The possession consisted of 10 passes, seven dribbles and three paint touches. Most importantly, it showed why these Suns are starting to find themselves, winners of five of six to improve to 6-5. Their unselfishness is a strength. “A whole new vibe,” Booker said.

The Phoenix Suns have downgraded Royce O'Neale (illness) to probable for Monday's game against New Orleans.

Royce O’Neal: I always believed I was an NBA player. I just needed the right opportunity, right chance. It's right about timing cuz when I was coming out, they didn't have like all the two contracts and all that. So it was just a draft and if you didn't get drafted and you were going to a training camp deal or whatever, trying to make a spot and each coming out, didn't get drafted. So, then played overseas, came back, had many camps, played summer league and the opportunity didn't pan out. So then go back overseas again, come back, then get the opportunity, play summer league, do well, and then sign with Utah. A lot of guys dream of being that McDonald's All-American high school, leading scorer, this and that, but everybody's path is different.

The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings were the strongest suitors for Kuminga in trade talks, with the largest sign-and-trade offer coming via the Suns as a four-year, nearly $90 million deal with a player option, sources said. The Warriors never showed interest in either team's trade proposal, however, declining concepts of Royce O'Neale and second-round picks from the Suns and Malik Monk and a protected first-round pick from the Kings.

Duane Rankin: "I"m tired of Oso talking." Royce O'Neale joking about Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro taking on a leadership role in Year 2. "Nah. I think it's good. It just shows they want to be leaders, try to take that next step. For everybody, communication is going to be big." #Suns

Bargaining between Kuminga's side and Dunleavy's front office had hit a wall. The Warriors had shut down sign-and-trades, steadfast all offseason in declining frameworks of Royce O'Neale and second-round compensation from the Phoenix Suns or Malik Monk and a future first-round pick from the Sacramento Kings, sources said. Kuminga had made clear his lack of interest in the two-year, $45 million standing offer the Warriors had put in front of him because of the team option on the second season and waiving the de facto no-trade clause.

NBA forward Royce O’Neale of the Phoenix Suns returned to his hometown roots this week, hosting his fourth basketball camp at Harker Heights High School — his first since 2022 — bringing together 150 young athletes for a day of skills, competition and mentorship.

Kevin Durant: "Attack the paint, try to get layups, try to get threes. But when it's five to six seconds on the clock, give the ball to the best player. And if you shoot a mid-range at that point, then he's shooting a mid-range. But we not going to waste the clock trying to look for a three with two seconds on the clock, and we giving it to no Dorian Finney-Smith with two seconds on the clock to make a three." "That's not—that's not what we... Or Royce O'Neale. That's not—I mean, they can hit it for sure—but that's not sustainable offense for us going forward."
