Libaan Osman: NEW: Washington Wizards forward Kyshawn George will be suiting up for Canada Basketball at the FIBA AmeriCup in August, I’m told. He’s expected to have a featured role.

Josh Robbins: Wizards rookie Kyshawn George, who took an elbow to his jaw in the last game, has been upgraded to available for tonight's matchup against the Jazz. Richaun Holmes' status has been downgraded to out because of the knee-on-knee contact he sustained in the last game.
NBA Communications: Other nominees... West: Stephon Castle (SAS), Zach Edey and Jaylen Wells (MEM) East: Matas Buzelis (CHI), Kyshawn George (WAS) and Kel’el Ware (MIA)
Josh Robbins: In their updated injury report for tonight's game, the Wizards have upgraded Kyshawn George from questionable to available. George missed the Wizards' game Saturday because of a sprained right ankle.

Josh Robbins: The Wizards have defeated the Wolves 105-103. Solid performances from J. Valanciunas, Jordan Poole, R Holmes, Bilal Coulibaly, Kyshawn George but especially from Kyle Kuzma, who had 31 pts, 8 boards, 2 assists & had the defensive contest on a potential game-winning 3.
Gerald Bourguet: Final: PHX 130, WAS 123 Booker: 37 Pts, 5 Ast, 10-24 FG, 4-10 3P Durant: 23 Pts, 6 Reb, 8-16 FG Allen: 21 Pts, 5 Reb, 8-12 FG, 5-7 3P Dunn: 18 Pts, 11 Reb, 8-12 FG George: 24 Pts, 8-10 FG, 6-8 3P
Josh Robbins: Malcolm Brogdon, Kyshawn George and Corey Kispert, who have missed recent games with injuries, practiced with their Wizards teammates today, Brian Keefe said. Meanwhile, Kyle Kuzma continues to ramp up his rehab work following the rib cartilage sprain he suffered on Nov. 27.
Let’s make this clear: In rebuilding, in racing to the bottom of the league standings, the Wizards are doing what they must do in search of a brighter future. In the NBA, a team simply must have at least one star to contend (and preferably, two stars or more). The best way for Washington to bring aboard high-level talent is through the draft. If the Wizards finish with the league’s worst record, they would still be unlikely to win the top pick and have the right to draft Cooper Flagg or Ace Bailey. But having the worst record at least would ensure they would receive no worse than the fifth pick. At 2-15, Washington is where it needs to be. It’s the league’s worst record. Still, that race-to-the-bottom approach often creates collateral damage. Can Bub Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly, Kyshawn George and Alex Sarr emerge unscathed from all this losing and keep growing? “To me, we don’t really have a choice,” George said as he sat at his locker after Wednesday’s loss. “It’s too easy to just give up, and you lean on the people that are around you. I think we have a great group of guys as persons that hold each other accountable. We’re all working toward the same goal — the players and the coaching staff and the whole organization. So, it’s too easy to just say, ‘OK, this is what it is, and we’re not going to get better.’”
