Hunter anticipates playing with Murray because their abilities to do some of the same things on the floor. "Playing with a guy like Keegan, he's another versatile guy who can defend, who can shoot, who can score. I think it'll be fun," Hunter said. "Definitely (exciting). Like I said, he's another guy with size, another guy that guard one through four. As a guy that could do that, it's always good to see another dude on the court that can help you out when you're a little tired."

Marc J. Spears: Sacramento Kings say forward Keegan Murray is progressing in his rehabilitation of a moderate left ankle sprain. Murray has been approved for on-court contact activities. He will be reevaluated in two weeks.

Meanwhile, the Kings have inquired about the price tag for Morant, but internal questions about whether the franchise is ready to give up assets and add him while focusing on developing their young talent (Keegan Murray, Nique Clifford, and Maxime Raynaud) and gauging the market on potentially moving their veteran trio of Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and DeMar DeRozan.

Outside of Keegan Murray and Nique Clifford, Ellis is the one player on the Kings' roster whom team executives covet. Ellis fills a need for the Lakers, who would acquire his Bird rights for next season. More importantly, Ellis' $2.4 million free agent hold allows the Lakers to use cap space in free agency to fill out their roster and still exceed the cap to sign the guard.

One key player will be back in uniform and another could be back in the starting lineup when the Sacramento Kings visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday at Intuit Dome in Inglewood. Kings forward Keegan Murray has been upgraded to questionable after missing the past two games with a right calf strain. Backup center Drew Eubanks will be available after missing the past seven games due to an avulsion fracture in his left thumb. Zach LaVine (left ankle sprain) and Domantas Sabonis (left knee partial meniscus tear) are still out due to injuries.


Sean Cunningham: Keegan Murray had an MRI which revealed a mild calf strain in his right leg and will be reevaluated in one week, sources say. He sustained the injury this past Tuesday in the loss to the Pistons.
