Michael Scotto: Update: The New Orleans Pelicans signed Jaden Springer to an Exhibit-9 deal, sources told @hoopshype. Springer will compete for a roster spot in training camp with the Pelicans. Springer has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, and Utah Jazz in his four-year career.

Bobby Marks: Utah announced that they have waived Jaden Springer. Springer had a July 25 guarantee date that would have saw the protection in his contract increase from $0 to $400K.

Yossi Gozlan: The Jazz decreased payroll enough where they could pivot to becoming a cap space team. They can have $22 million in cap space if they waive KJ Martin and Jaden Springer's non-guaranteed salaries. This would give them more spending as well as the $8.8 million room mid-level.
