Head coach Frederic Fauthoux has named a 16-player roster for the senior national team of France heading into the upcoming July window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers, as revealed by the French Federation of Basketball on Friday. The star-studded training camp squad is highlighted by the returns of veterans Rudy Gobert and Evan Fournier, alongside a strong NBA contingent featuring Bilal Coulibaly, Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr, Guerschon Yabusele, and newcomer Maxime Raynaud. While France will be without Victor Wembanyama following his deep run in the 2026 NBA Playoffs, presented by Google, Fauthoux balanced the roster with EuroLeague standouts Sylvain Francisco, Nadir Hifi, Jaylen Hoard, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Frank Ntilikina, Elie Okobo, and Matthew Strazel, who were also called up alongside window veterans Adam Mokoka and Amine Noua to ensure continuity.
On Monday, Eurohoops revealed the 27-year-old combo guard was in advanced talks with the Reds. Later developments went from the Belgrade outfit requesting €300,000 buyout fee to the negotiations falling through. However, Ntilikina is indeed switching EuroLeague teams, with his former side getting compensation. Partizan announced the agreement with the Greek side and Olympiacos followed by officially welcoming the French international on a two-year contract.
The talks between Olympiacos and Partizan, despite the initial deal for the transfer of Frank Ntilikina, are dead, according to Eurohoops sources. The French guard remains in Belgrade, and Olympiacos is looking elsewhere.
Olympiacos is seriously considering the case of Frank Nilikina for the playmaker position, as reported on the BIG 4 by Betsson show. Who is the French international who is of great interest to the Greek champions?
Partizan Belgrade have agreed to extend Frank Ntilikina’s contract for another year, keeping him with the team until 2027. The French guard accepted a significant pay cut. Though Monaco had shown interest this summer, Ntilikina expressed his desire to stay. “I’m more ready than ever, you will see the best version of me,” he said. After an injury-hit season, Ntilikina averaged 7 points and 2 assists in the EuroLeague, and 6.7 points per game in the ABA League.

"We are lucky to have a team with experience, but we know if we want a chance to go all the way [we need] to be strong defensively. Our defense will fuel our attack," Gobert told reporters ahead of France's game against Brazil. "We are working very hard to be able to maximize our strengths and qualities with consistency."
