I was following you on Instagram, so maybe I should …

I was following you on Instagram, so maybe I should say congratulations—did you recently get engaged? Jake LaRavia: Yep, that was the first on my to-do list this offseason. Host: That’s a good thing to get off the checklist, I’d say! Can I hear more about this? High school sweetheart? Someone you met recently? Jake LaRavia: No, we met during my pre-draft process. I went to work out for the Raptors, and she’s from Toronto. We were on the same flight out there—we didn’t talk, but I saw her the next day downtown. She ran up to me and said, “Oh, you were on my flight,” etc. She was doing a work scavenger hunt, and I had to take a picture with her team. She saw my name on my travel bag, and she DM’d me that night. The rest is history—we’ve been together for three years, got engaged, and will get married soon.

Marc Stein: Sasha Vezenkov was able to leave the NBA last summer because Toronto was good with letting the former EuroLeague MVP out of his contract after acquiring him from Sacramento. If the Nuggets opt to hold firm, Valančiūnas would be unable to secure FIBA clearance to play in Greece.

In the No. 10 range, it remains to be seen which players will be available after Toronto selects at No. 9 ... or the Raptors trade that selection elsewhere. Two names I've been told to monitor for the Suns on NBA Draft Eve at No. 10: Maryland's Derik Queen and Michigan's Danny Wolf.

Tolzman said there has been a lot of interest in teams trying to trade for their lottery pick, but didn’t indicate any move is close. He also said it’s possible Toronto trades for another mid-round pick if a guy they’ve ranked highly is still on the board.

Chris Boucher on Raptors: They kept believing in me …

Chris Boucher on Raptors: They kept believing in me and kept putting me in a position to get better. That all helped me out. I think the player I am now a lot of it comes from them and seeing what I was able to do while learning from the positions I was put in. They showed me how to become a leader and a man. My life has changed a lot in the eight years that I’ve been here. A lot of things I had to learn on the fly, and I was able to do that in Toronto.
