Sources in Toronto say, in one meeting, Uncle Dennis asked for an ownership stake in the Toronto Maple Leafs, because that way he wasn’t asking for a piece of the Raptors. It was politely explained to him that both teams were owned by the same company, and that the request was impossible.
John Gambadoro: This story is fascinating. From what I know from sources - when Kawhi signed with the Clippers the Toronto owner Larry Tannebaum was beside himself because he believed he bent over backwards for Kawhi - including calling three sponsors to meet Kawhi's demand of an extra $15 million in endorsement money. This was brought to the attention of Adam Silver as a concern over the cheating going on in the league being out of control. But no action was taken as it was thought Tannebaum didn't truly understand the rules - only a promise to get more serious about it in the future.
Michael Scotto: The Orlando Magic and Colin Castleton have agreed to a deal, league sources told @hoopshype . The 25-year-old center averaged 7.2 points on 50% shooting from the field and 6.9 rebounds in 26 minutes during 11 games played, including four starts, for Toronto last season.
Josh Lewenberg: Bobby Webster on a conference all with the Toronto media: "There’s 30 of these jobs in the NBA but, to me, this is 1 of 1... There’s not a more unique basketball job in the world... I grew up playing basketball as a small kid and to have it lead all the way here is unbelievable"

Shams Charania: Boucher departs Toronto where he has the all-time franchise record in points, rebounds, blocks, minutes and games played off the bench. He also was the Raptors' last remaining member of the 2019 NBA championship team.
The Raptors' younger core trained in Toronto for most of May, in addition to heading to Austin, Texas, where Jamal Shead hosted a group of 10 players, along with coaches and training staff, for a four-day training camp in his hometown before Summer League. The veterans were also in Las Vegas for a mini-camp. The next step is a team-wide mini-camp in Madrid during the first week of August. The Raptors held a similar gathering last summer on Spain’s southern coast in Fuengirola, working out of the NBPA’s European training facility. This time around, the Raptors will be training at the leading-edge facilities enjoyed by one of the richest clubs in European sports, Real Madrid.
DeMar DeRozan on when he was traded: I get traded from Toronto in the middle of the night. I'm sick. I'm hot. I'm walking down the street. I'm sitting in a fast food parking lot, right? I called two people. First person I called to tell was Kyle Lowry, right? Second, I called this motherf*cker right? [Rudy Gay]. I said, "Yeah, bro. These people just trading me." And he's laughing on the phone. I'm like, "What the f*ck man?" Rudy Gay: After that he told me he was being traded toSan Antonio I laughed again. DeRozan: Yeah, he laughed twice. So he laughed at me twice. The second laugh I hung up on his ass.

I was following you on Instagram, so maybe I should say congratulations—did you recently get engaged? Jake LaRavia: Yep, that was the first on my to-do list this offseason. Host: That’s a good thing to get off the checklist, I’d say! Can I hear more about this? High school sweetheart? Someone you met recently? Jake LaRavia: No, we met during my pre-draft process. I went to work out for the Raptors, and she’s from Toronto. We were on the same flight out there—we didn’t talk, but I saw her the next day downtown. She ran up to me and said, “Oh, you were on my flight,” etc. She was doing a work scavenger hunt, and I had to take a picture with her team. She saw my name on my travel bag, and she DM’d me that night. The rest is history—we’ve been together for three years, got engaged, and will get married soon.
Josh Lewenberg: Masai Ujiri's goodbye: "Toronto, Canada, I love you. The country that welcomed me. The city that became home. This bond we share will last forever... Now a new chapter begins but your love will always be with me... You will win again in Toronto."
