Dustin Dopirak: Jordan Nwora: "I think this summer is going to be huge. I don't know how much time I'm going to spend in Buffalo. I'm going to spend a lot of time out here in Indiana."
"I want them to be better than they were when they came here, and have the same or more love for the game when they first came to this camp," Nwora said. This is the first year for the camp in Buffalo. He did a similar camp in Nigeria.
Shaq's generosity knows no limits -- the NBA legend is donating the $50,000 he was set to make from a DJ'ing gig in Buffalo to the family of one of the shooting victims.
Ira Winderman: Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra is back in South Florida. He drove to Buffalo and then took a private plane back to Miami. He still must get a negative Covid test or else remain out for five days.
Duane Rankin: "Didn't they lose to Buffalo?" Mikal Bridges when asked if he and Deandre Ayton talked about possible Arizona-Villanova matchup in Elite 8. Buffalo beat Ayton's Cats in 2018 1st round. Bridges' Cats won it all. Bridges joked Ayton was at Arizona "2 months" to "get here" #Suns

Still, respect hasn’t always been paid to McAdoo for whatever reason. Maybe it’s because his championship years with the Lakers have been cast as him being a player at the end of his career. There’s also that he won MVP playing for Buffalo (now the LA Clippers) at a time some thought Buffalo was in the ABA. McAdoo was the only MVP and scoring champion not named to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary Team, which was one of the more glaring omissions fixed with the 75th Anniversary team. “They know they messed up in the first 50,” McAdoo said. “But I still don’t feel like I’m respected, because people don’t know the whole story.”
An event to remember the late Cliff Robinson will be held this weekend in Buffalo at Johnnie B. Wiley Amateur Athletic Sports Pavilion, 1100 Jefferson Ave. The event, which is free and open to the public, runs from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It will include live music and guest speakers.
Mr. Carter played in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and in the ABA with Virginia, Carolina, Pittsburgh, the New York Nets, the Utah Stars, the Pittsburgh Condors and the Memphis Sound. The native of Buffalo, N.Y., averaged 18.1 points and 6.8 rebounds for his NBA/ABA combined career over 479 games.
The Raptors have also discussed playing in Tampa Bay or Nashville or as tenants in another NBA team’s arena, according to a source. Kansas City pitched its T-Mobile Center. Louisville was floated and reportedly shot down. There’s been speculation about the team moving over the border to Buffalo, just like the Toronto Blue Jays during the last MLB season. While some of those destinations offer a warmer climate, none can match the geographical sense of The Rock.

Former New York Knicks basketball players J.R. Smith and Al Harrington made a surprise appearance in Albany on Tuesday to push for pot to be legalized before the plan goes up in smoke at the end of the legislative session. The New Jersey-born hoops stars were invited by Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes (D-Buffalo), who is the sponsor of the recreational marijuana legislation, with the suspected tokers lending star power to the dying legislation. Harrington told The Post that he and Smith had “expertise” in both medical and recreational marijuana and were pushing for black communities to be included in the proposed legislation.
Erik Horne: I’m told this is a joke by Enes. He was flying to Buffalo from DC and his United check-in was next to Turkish Airlines. So, of course he decided to troll. Don’t change, Enes.

Will the Lakers reach their goal in terms of trading Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and/or Luol Deng to create the salary-cap room needed to sign to two max players in the summer before the trade deadline? Deven Parikh, Buffalo, NY STEIN: If the Lakers have to do all that before the Feb. 8 deadline to win your approval, then I don’t foresee a joyous Valentine’s Day for you. But the reality is that they have until the end of June to make all the moves they need to make. Deng will almost certainly have to be waived and stretched; there’s just no trade market for him. But takers for Randle and Clarkson will emerge. The expectation remains that it’s certainly going to cost the Lakers some attached draft compensation to move one or both of those guys, but they’re quality players and suitors will materialize. (And, no, dear readers: It is NOT an accident that I answered a question from a Buffalonian first!)
