Kevin Love Rumors

Tyronn Lue: “Moving over six inches on the …

Tyronn Lue: “Moving over six inches on the bench—that’s what people don’t understand. It’s tough. Especially when it happens midway through the season. We had just gone to the Finals. Lost Game 6 without Kevin Love and Kyrie. And now I’m being asked to replace Coach Blatt, who had done a hell of a job. If we didn’t make it back to the Finals—or at least to Game 7—I was going to be viewed as a failure. And that pressure? Man, it was real.” “I didn’t even know if I could do it. You’re taking over halfway through the year—no training camp, no time to implement your own system. You’ve got to stick to what’s already there. And on top of that, you’re coaching the best player in the world. That adds another level of pressure. It was tough.” “But I’ve got to give credit to K-Love, Kyrie, Bron, JR, Tristan—those guys told me: ‘We got your back 100%. Whatever you want to do, let’s do it.’ I told them, ‘I’m going to make some mistakes, but if we stick together, we’ll be fine.’ And they really had my back. All the way.”

Tyronn Lue: David Blatt's system didn't fit with LeBron

Tyronn Lue: David Blatt's system didn't fit with LeBron

“Was Coach Blatt’s message just not getting through? Was it falling on deaf ears? Somebody upstairs must’ve made the call. Why would you fire the head coach when you’re the number one seed—after just going to the Finals?” Tyronn Lue: “Look, for me, I think he did a great job. But here’s the thing—when you coach overseas, you are the face of the team. Whatever you say goes, no matter which players are on the roster. You’re in control. But in the NBA? The players are the face of the team. And that’s a totally different dynamic.” “So even if you want to go off on someone—cuss a guy out—you might not be able to do that today. You know what I’m saying? You just can’t do it the same way. But I’ll be honest: his offensive system? It was great. I wish I could run it today. All the stuff he brought over was good stuff. The problem? It didn’t fit with Bron. Bron’s not going to run around the way that system required. Kyrie wants to dance. He’s not coming off curls. Kevin Love isn’t a mover either.” “The offense worked in Europe—but it didn’t match our personnel.

“I’m going to miss them, obviously,” Adebayo said of losing Duncan Robinson and Kevin Love as Heat teammates. “Just because Duncan has been here for eight years and having that connection was special. And then K-Love was a leader that could speak to somebody from a championship level, could obviously encourage the younger group, be an example, but also he was the bridge between some of the coaches and the players. So like I said, I’m going to miss both of them. I’m glad we had the time that we did. It was, obviously, helpful for my growth and my development as a player and as a captain.”

Channing Frye: I will say this—my understanding was that Kevin was going to be that next guy for Miami, right? Clarify 'next'—the next UD. The next guy who was keeping that locker room solid. Your 15th guy, your number one guy, your coach, your GM, your owner—they all need to be on the same page. They need to buy into what you're selling. And Kevin was bought in a thousand percent in Miami. Now, do things happen? Yes. But I think—when you’re telling somebody at that age, 'Hey, we want you here,' you’ve got to give them a call to explain like, 'Hey, here’s why you’re going here. Here’s our thought process.' Just that level of respect. It’s not like it would’ve changed anything—but the communication is what I didn’t appreciate necessarily. I think Kevin should either go to New York, Portland, or Cleveland. That’s just my three places."

Iman Shumpert: To my standard, I don't feel like we should have lost the first championship in 2015. Kyrie hurt his knee. I had my shoulder out of place. Jr's back was messed up. Kevin Love's back was messed up. Brian Windhorst: No, Kevin Love's shoulder was out. Shumpert: The shoulder was out. I can't remember what LeBron's issue was, but I believe he went and got some back operation after that before the next season. Windhorst: He might have just broken news, but we'll just move past that.

His passing had a direct impact on Miami Heat forward Kevin Love. Wilson and his brothers started the band with their cousin Mike Love, who is an uncle of the 18-year NBA veteran. Kevin Love referred to Wilson, technically a cousin, as his uncle. "The Love family is deeply saddened by the loss of Brian Wilson," Love wrote on an Instagram post. "He was revolutionary in his songwriting and arranging. Growing up around my uncle Mike and The Beach Boys I absorbed much of their influence within Rock & Roll."
