Shams Charania: Free agent center Jock Landale has agreed to a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, sources tell ESPN. Landale solidifies the Grizzlies frontcourt as the team and his agent, Sammy Wloszczowski of SIG Sports, reach terms.
According to NBA executives who spoke with HoopsHype, Nick Smith Jr. is a player they believe could be attainable on the trade market from Charlotte’s backcourt. Similar to Jock Landale who was recently waived by the Houston Rockets, the working assumption is Josh Okogie had his guarantee date pushed back to July 15th because the Hornets will look to include his salary in a potential trade and could waive him if nothing materializes. In addition, DaQuan Jeffries also has a non-guaranteed contract for the upcoming season, making him a candidate to be waived.
Bobby Marks: The Jock Landale waiver was required in order for Houston to stay below the 1st apron. Houston is triggering the 1st apron as part of the Dorian Finney-Smith signing along with acquiring Clint Capela sign-and-trade. The Rockets are 1 of 7 teams involved in a record breaking trade that includes Kevin Durant and Capela. That trade is likely to be finalized on July 6.
Michael Scotto: Just In: The Houston Rockets will waive center Jock Landale, league sources @hoopshype. Landale had a non-guaranteed $8 million salary guarantee date nearing for the 2025-26 season.

Yossi Gozlan: Either way, I'd guess the Rockets trade Cam Whitmore and cut Jock Landale at a minimum. This allows them to fit Dorian Finney-Smith and Clint Capela at their reported numbers under the $195.9 million first apron hard cap.
Keith Smith: NBA contracts that will become fully guaranteed today: 🏀Anthony Gill - WAS - $2.5M 🏀Jock Landale - HOU - $8M 🏀Nick Richards - PHX - $5M Players and teams can mutually agree to push the guarantee date back.
Anthony Slater: Jimmy Butler has the official questionable tag on the Game 4 injury report. He continues to trend toward a return, per sources. Only change on the Houston side: Jock Landale upgraded from out to probable. Likely out of the rotation regardless.
Danielle Lerner: Rockets center Jock Landale (OUT, knee contusion) is doing some return to play conditioning on the court in San Francisco. He could be available later on in the series. Jae’Sean Tate (OUT, ankle impingement) isn’t as far along. No word on when he might be cleared to play.
Danielle Lerner: Rockets injury report: Fred VanVleet is out and Jock Landale is questionable. The three two-way guys (McVeigh, Dante, Roddy) are in the G League. Everyone else is available to play vs. Pacers.

Atlanta's Quin Snyder has emerged as a prominent candidate in Basketball Australia's search for a new head coach. League sources told The Stein Line that Boomers executive general manager Jason Smith has flown to the United States this week to meet with Snyder and at least one other candidate for the position: Washington Wizards assistant coach Adam Caporn. Smith is also visiting with several Australian players in the NBA such as Chicago's Josh Giddey and Houston's Jock Landale. Orlando assistant coach Bret Brielmaier and former Nets and Rockets assistant Will Weaver have also conducted multiple interviews for the position, sources said. Canada's Gordon Herbert, who led Germany on its Cinderella run to the gold medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, is another finalist for the position.
Sean Cunningham: Kings host the Rockets tonight and Houston lists Jabari Smith Jr., Fred VanVleet (personal reasons), Jock Landale (personal reasons) out. Tari Eason is questionable with injury management of his left lower leg.
Jonathan Feigen: Rockets center Steven Adams and guard Fred VanVleet are questionable to play against the Clippers tomorrow. Center Jock Landale is probable. VanVleet and Landale were out last night.
