The the most controversial ratings list I've seen so far is the mid-range jumpers list. That one, a lot of people seemed to react to it with Nikola Jokic being number one, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander technically being ranked fifth and then Kawhi Leonard not being ranked anywhere in that top ten. Ronnie 2K: Yeah, let me talk about that. I think a lot of people see things in terms of volume or feel and both of those are wrong. What it really is based off of is per-36 or whatever metric that we have that's based on how often they're shooting it and how successful they are shooting it. I saw this example: I think if you look at the three-point list, it's actually even more relevant. You have Isaiah Joe, who's not even a starter on the Thunder, gets about 20 minutes and I think he's 5th on that list or something like that. You're like why and it's because his per-36 numbers are behind only Stephen Curry percentage-wise and in terms of volume, he shoots I think he makes like five every 36 minutes or something like that uh so yeah a lot of it's based on on per-36 as opposed to like pure volume.
An NBA champion is in the Philippines. On Friday, Isaiah Joe of the Oklahoma City Thunder talked to the media before interacting with fans at the NBA Store in Mandaluyong. Joe is coming off his first NBA title as the Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Finals last June. "You definitely have to see it to believe it. The fact that I've touched down here and I'm getting to see it is definitely amazing," Joe said about the Filipinos' love for basketball.
Mayor George McGill officially proclaimed July 24, 2025, to be "Jaylin Williams and Isaiah Joe Day" in the city during the "Thunder in the Fort" event held Thursday. Williams and Joe are former local high school basketball standouts and current NBA champions. The event celebrated the pair and their Oklahoma Thunder basketball team winning the NBA championship last month against the Indiana Pacers.
Joe and Williams addressed the crowd as well. Joe thanked the crowd for their support. "Whoever thought two homegrown kids from Fort Smith, Arkansas, would be home holding this trophy right here," Joe said. "We would not be able to do it without you guys, just know that." Williams also thanked everyone for a great turn out. "It means the world to Isaiah and me, the support we get from y'all, it makes me want to tear up," Williams said. "It's crazy how many games we have where it's Arkansas fans, or people telling me 'I'm from Fort Smith.'"
