Miroslav Ćuk: Matt Moore: (paraphrasing) Nikola and Jamal weren't capable of playing better defense like several years ago. How do you plan to address that next season, when they are a year older? David Adelman: Everybody needs to be better on defense next season.

David Adelman addressed Christian Braun's comments about being Nuggets' vocal leader today. "CB's a leader. ... I love what CB said. That's what a human being should say: 'I'm frustrated. I want to be better. I want the team to be better. And I want to win.'" https://t.co/tuei0mbyCh pic.twitter.com/6vWo7NTz0m

DNVR Nuggets: "I have full faith in David Adelman. I think he did a hell of a job all things considered." - Josh Kroenke

Bennett Durando: Shams Charania just went on Inside the NBA and confirmed some tidbits from our @denverpost reporting on the end of the Nuggets’ season: David Adelman’s job is considered safe, but changes to the roster are coming this summer as Denver navigates first-round exit amid payroll dilemmas.

Despite chatter that Adelman may already be on the hot seat one year into his tenure, the immediate sense within the organization is that he’ll be back for a second season. Before wiping out in the playoffs, he led the Nuggets to 54 wins in a regular season that forced him to use 28 different starting lineups due to various injuries. Jokic and Murray both defended him after the Game 6 loss.
No update yet on Aaron Gordon's status for Game 6, but I asked David Adelman about whether Gordon's mobility would need to look better than it did in Game 4 for the Nuggets to feel comfortable that he can be effective, or if that limited version of him would make him a no-go. pic.twitter.com/dLJodNEW1v

Nuggets coach David Adelman bristled when reporters questioned his team’s effort and defense after the game. “I think it’s hilarious, the narrative is that offense doesn’t matter. You shoot 24% in the second half, it’s hard to win,” he said. Overly reliant on Jokić and Murray, Denver got outscored 62-42 in the second half. The 3-point shots that are so important in creating space, opening passes lanes and stressing the other team’s defensive rotations were mostly misfires: 2-for-13 in the half, 1-for-8 in the fourth quarter. They’ve been a problem all series.

Brendan Vogt: My first question to Adelman was about this team’s competitive spirit. Where did it go? He did not like the question. “You don’t think we were competitive tonight?” In a later answer, he said this question bothered him. Insisted it was about poor offense.

Bennett Durando: David Adelman: “I don’t care what you write. I really don’t. I know what the team feels. I know what they felt before the game. The narrative doesn’t matter to me. I know the feeling of the group. And I know there’s something in us.”
Michael Scotto: David Adelman on Aaron Gordon: “There was no minutes restriction, but I think everybody saw Aaron was laboring. He gave us what he could give us. I thought it was unfair for me to keep him out there, to be honest. We’re going to have to decide what we’re going to do for Game 5.”
Anthony Slater: Pretty clear how badly the Nuggets miss Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson in this Minnesota matchup. Here is David Adelman on the status of his wings moving forward. Expects more information on status of both tomorrow in regard to Game 4.
