The Kings had defensive concerns about putting Curry next to the slight-of-frame Kevin Martin in their backcourt and were drawn to the way that the 6-foot-6, 220-pound Evans could get to the rim at will while holding his own on both ends (with the help of his 7-3 wingspan). NBA veteran Kevin Martin is selling his million-dollar-plus homes in New Albany and in his hometown of Zanesville. Martin, who logged 12 years and 12,000 points in the league, moved back to Ohio in 2021 with his wife, Jill. They plan to remain in the New Albany area to raise their daughters, 2 and 6.

"This is probably at the top of the list for me," Martin said. "I'm not going to be in the NBA Hall of Fame, so the (Circle of Champions), this is the final hurrah for me (as a player). He also remains active in buying and selling real estate in Florida, which he has done for 12 years. He said he has no regrets about retiring — and leaving millions on the table — when he still had a place in the league.

Marc Stein: The Bulls' Thaddeus Young is finalizing an agreement to purchase a minority ownership stake in Australia's @BrisbaneBullets , @NYTSports has learned. The deal will reunite Young and his former teammate Kevin Martin, former high-scoring NBA guard who is Brisbane's majority owner.
I always got along with Martin while covering him on the Kings beat for The Sacramento Bee, and went to his big day, in part, because he had been classy enough to drive an hour outside of town to attend my father’s funeral nearly two years before. I was surprised to see Lowry at the wedding, though, as there had been rumblings that he’d been particularly hard on Martin at times during the previous season. Gary Gerould: For the Kings, I have to include Mitch Richmond, Chris Webber and Peja Stojaković. I probably have to include DeMarcus Cousins. I know that is frontline-heavy and I have not done justice to guards. I thought about Reggie Theus; I thought about Mike Bibby; I thought about Kevin Martin. In view of the success that the Kings had in that eight season run where Bibby was involved, I would make him probably the fifth guy. So Richmond, Stojaković, Webber, Cousins, Bibby is the five that I would go with.
