DeMarcus Cousins on Darryn Peterson: "Obviously, he deserves a chance to get drafted, and I don't think teams are going to hold everything that's happening for this young kid against him. But it does bring in some concern. It will make a team wonder or multiple teams wonder about personality, character, and things of that nature. Everything I've ever heard about this kid is he's a gym rat, super hard worker, good kid, come from a good family. But when there's a lot of smoke around your name, it's easy to get lost in the sauce and narratives can become true. I just want this kid keep his name clean, keep his nose clean, just put your head down to do the work."

DeMarcus Cousins: "Last night, I didn't like it. I feel like they switched up their style of play as far as allowing the offense to flow through KAT. It seemed like Brunson was more so worried about the headline, worried about being maybe the Finals MVP. That's what I saw in the moment. It didn't seem like it was the right form of basketball last night and I felt it was a lot of forced offense."

DeMarcus Cousins on Victor Wembanyama: "Oh, he's special for a reason and, you know, he's still young in his career, but I think this kid has arrived now. I think we're getting past the point of potential. Like, we're actually seeing what this kid is going to be right now in the in this moment of his career. And that's scary because he still has a lot of growing to do. So, I mean, I think he's the perfect example of a young player coming in right now. The mentality, he cares about winning, it's not about the numbers, he cares about defense, like everything you want in a young franchise player, he's the perfect example of that. So, I mean, he's he's that guy for a reason. I mean, the numbers show it, the performance shows it, the presence shows it, the impact shows it. He's the real deal."

Run It Back: DeMarcus Cousins says Victor Wembanyama is the real deal 💯 "We're getting past the point of potential... that's scary because he still has a lot of growing to do. ... Everything you want in a young franchise player, he's the perfect example of it."

Damien Peters: I asked DeMarcus Cousins his thoughts on potentially seeing LeBron James’ last ever game in the NBA. He gave an incredibly thoughtful and reflective response: “I think he’s got another 10 years left. For a guy who I grew up watching as a kid, I was a part of his camps as a young kid – it will be a sad day. I’m a guy that appreciates LeBron James. I know a lot of people hate him, I’m a guy that appreciates his legacy and what he’s done for the game and young athletes. Creating a blueprint on how to carry yourself on and off the court, how to take care of your body and be the ultimate professional. I appreciate everything he’s brought to the game. Whenever he decides to make it his last, I hope he gets the flowers he deserves”

DeMarcus Cousins: Larry Bird is for sure a legend, but you know, the new talking heads in this new generation of basketball like to put guys like LeBron, KD, Kawhi ahead of Larry on the all-time list. Does that bother you at all when you hear things like that? Robert Parish: First of all, with all due respect to those guys, they're not in the same conversation with Larry. The best of the best, it's hard, hard to get a seat at that table. The only one that I think may be able to get a seat at that table other than obviously LeBron and Durant… but both are old-school! I'm talking about the new guys. Maybe the big fella up there in Denver, Nikola Jokic.

Lou Williams: I’ve had opportunities to play overseas and like lockouts and this and that. But it doesn't even matter. We have this thing in our business called feed the family, right? F*ck what somebody thinking about. Feed the fam. That's why you still see guys that Dwight Howard, top 75 player in the world, still playing. I'm still gonna be in Taiwan. Demarcus Cousins, I'm still gonna be in Mongolia. Feed the family at all costs.

Carmelo Anthony on DeMarcus Cousins recruiting him to the Pelicans: I did have a Pelican jersey. I was a recruitment pitch. That was crazy. DeMarcus Cousins: Did they sent you that sh*t? Anthony: Yeah, that was… that's what I'm saying. This is real. Like, this was a conversation! Cousins: They sent you, what, the Mardi Gras jersey? Anthony: Fire. Cousins: It had to be like purple, gold, green. Anthony: Yeah, it was’ the Mardi Gras one. They sent me one… No, the red one. That's the one. The red one.

Cousins remains in the limelight for his opinion on and off the court. During his 12-year NBA career, he played for several teams, including the Kings, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, and New Orleans Pelicans. However, his on-court journey with the league ended with the Denver Nuggets in 2022. In a recent episode of the “7 PM in Brooklyn” podcast, Cousins reflected on his time with the Kings.“For the most part I’ve been a winner my whole life. To get to a situation where it’s a lot of losing and sh*t it’s like they tell you to be professional and have a good attitude. Why the f*ck you trynna tell me to have a good attitude about losing? MF I’m not wired like that and you’re not going to make me think that’s the way I’m supposed to be wired,” Cousins stated.

DeMarcus Cousins: Now we're looking at this Kuminga. It's situation after situation after situation where he's continuing to downplay young talent. And we're now fast forward to this situation and once again we're overlooking it and kind of sweeping it under the rug. Like something has to be said, something has to be done as far as why do these type situations continue to happen under the watch of Steve Kerr when it comes to young talent?"

DeMarcus Cousins: And this is a coach with an ego. We all know that. We know that. Every coach has an ego. So with that being said, if I've gone out on a limb saying, 'This guy doesn't fit. He's not going to help me win games,' and I lose one of my best players, I'm not going to then retract on my words and then throw him in there and make myself look bad. I'm going to stand on what I said. 'He's not a good fit. He doesn't play well in this system, and I don't want him here. So I'm going to stand on—'
