Kris Dunn's agent, Bernie Lee, has been outspoken on social media about his disappointment in the new CBA affecting the guard's eligibility for an All-Defensive Team or even Defensive Player of the Year. “I have felt for a few seasons now that this is seemingly a throw-away rule created as a reactionary narrative created over minutes limits and sports science and availability,” Lee said when reached out to by ClutchPoints for comment about Dunn's ineligibility due to the league's CBA. “I have never met a successful NBA player who didn’t want to compete and play and the fact that we allowed that desire to be measured in such an arbitrary way in the last CBA is something that needs to be addressed. “An amazing part of sports is historical achievements and date. This year, three-fourths of the NBA is not eligible for very important awards. It devalues the awards themselves and also undercuts the character and fortitude of every player in this league to compete. Kris is going to miss out on an award that is he extremely deserving of all because of a throw away arbitrary caveat to the last CBA. “It’s unfair.”
Brian Lewis: Ben Simmons’ agent Bernie Lee on buyout status: “I just saw some of the other reporting. (I) want to be really clear Ben hasn’t met with anyone nor is he. We are having conversations with the Nets and when there is something to be said we will let everyone know.” #nets #nba
Amid yet another report of how the situation played out ahead of Jimmy Butler’s current suspension, agent Bernie Lee took to social media Saturday to clear up what had become an exaggerated misconception. In the wake of a podcast when former NBA center Channing Frye said Butler made the Heat wait two hours on the tarmac on Jan. 22 for the team’s flight to Milwaukee, Lee posted a flight alert of the Heat team plane actually departing 15 ahead of schedule that day.

Heat forward Jimmy Butler, whose relationship with the team has become somewhat strained, now prefers to be traded, ESPN reported Wednesday. Sources involved with Butler and the Heat both said that he has not formally requested a trade, but nobody has denied that he is unhappy. And Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, declined to comment on the report. A source who has spoken to multiple teams told The Miami Herald that Butler is considered available on the trade market. Butler was non-committal when asked earlier this month if he wants to remain with the Heat. But there’s nothing to suggest that a deal was imminent, and no indication that the Heat would cave to his preferences.
A high-level source with the Phoenix Suns said there's truth in both sides of the reporter vs. agent brouhaha -- and some misunderstanding in the current dialogue out there surrounding Butler. "What's been reported is probably 50-50 in terms of accuracy," the source said. "But I don't think Bernie (Lee)'s not out there calling people about Jimmy."
Jimmy Butler expressed his support for his agent’s bold response, emphasizing that he appreciated the defense. When asked about the situation after the game, Butler said. "I f*ing love it. I love it, I am all for the back and forth. Before he was my agent, he's like, I guess we're like brothers now, we do everything together, but I feel for him, at least somebody's sticking up for me," Butler noted

ClutchPoints: "I 1000% stand by my reporting. It's fully vetted. And as a professional, that's what I do, that's what I get paid to do... report truthfully and accurately. That's what this is. Period." Shams Charania responds to Jimmy Butler's agent Bernie Lee.
Evan Sidery: Heat owner Micky Arison just reposted agent Bernie Lee’s statement saying the latest reports on Jimmy Butler from Shams Charania are false. It appears Miami is also denying they are open to trading Butler.
That’s when Lee went to social media and unleashed a stream of posts on X aimed at Charania. “Alright listen,” Lee said to begin his response. “I gave you a pass yesterday because I was busy but if you don’t stop putting my name on your complete and utter made up bull— because you know you normally aren’t worth my time to acknowledge.”
Following his first post on social media on Wednesday night, Lee continued to go at Charania: “I don’t know what I’m going to do because I’m a middle aged dad but just know it would indicate severe dislike. World… all this is fabricated. I have never and honestly it wouldn’t help me or the position I represent to do anything that’s been reported by said ‘journalist.’” In Lee’s third and final post responding to Charania’s reports, he wrote: “Shams this is your opportunity to say my bad ‘I let chat GPT write my tweets and it went old school Peter Vecsey.’ (Shams Peter was a writer in the 90’s) be a trend setter.. invent the new I was hacked. Carry on all. Thank you.”
