Kevin Chouinard: Jersey numbers for new Hawks: 3: Luke Kennard 7: Nickeil Alexander-Walker 8: Kristaps Porzingis 14: Asa Newell 22: Nikola Djurisic 0: Jacob Toppin 30: Eli John Ndiaye
HoopsHype: Ninety-nine players have played for both the Hawks and the Pistons. Luke Kennard and Caris LeVert will make that 101 this coming season. That's easily the most shared players between any two teams in NBA history.
But the recruitment process of free agents like Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard—I know you personally reached out to both of those guys. Did you have a relationship with either of them? And if so—or if not—what was that recruitment conversation or process like for you as a leader of the Hawks? Trae Young: Yeah, no—I mean, I talked to both of them on the phone. I was able to talk to them. I’ve known them for years. I mean, being in this game, you connect with guys throughout the years, so I’ve known both of those guys for years. But yeah, I reached out to both of them and we were able to connect. Obviously, they both had options, but I wanted them on my team, and I know they would make our team better. So we were able to talk and make it happen. I'm happy that they’re on my team—we made it work.
As the best available shooter, Seth would be a logical candidate for any of those teams. He led the NBA last season in 3-point shooting percentage at 45.6 percent. His career 43.3-percent shooting from deep places him second among active players, behind Atlanta Hawks wing Luke Kennard (43.8) and just ahead of his third-place brother (42.3). “I always have to do what's best for myself,” Seth Curry says. “Obviously, Steph would love me to come over there and play with him. And the fans showed me a lot of love at all times. (Our) Family would love it. I've obviously I've always embraced the Warriors and their system and love the way they play. And you never know what can happen.”
Shams Charania: Free agent sharpshooter Luke Kennard has agreed to a one-year, $11 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks, sources tell ESPN. Kennard has been one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA, and Atlanta negotiated the new deal with CAA's Aaron Mintz and Dave Spahn.

Michael Scotto: The Atlanta Hawks and Luke Kennard have agreed to a one-year, $11 million deal, league sources confirm. ESPN first to report. Hawks officials and CAA representatives Aaron Mintz and Dave Spahn finalized the deal.
Shams Charania: Hawks star Trae Young reached out to Kennard and Nickeil Alexander-Walker this evening to help recruit them to the franchise, sources said. Two big wing gets for the Hawks.
In addition to its well-chronicled interest in Dorian Finney-Smith, Houston wants to explore the feasibility of signing Luke Kennard.
The Hawks and Nuggets, sources say, also have interest in Kennard. Atlanta landing both Kennard and Nickeil Alexander-Walker would mark noted boosts to its wing rotation.
Kelly Iko: The Rockets are working quickly to secure meetings with Dorian Finney-Smith, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard at the outset of free agency, team sources tell @TheAthletic.

After spending the past three seasons in Memphis, unrestricted free agent guard Luke Kennard is not expected to return to the Grizzlies, league sources told HoopsHype.
However, there are a couple of names I think the Knicks should consider and have had rumblings about considering. The first one is Luke Kennard. The soon-to-be 29-year-old is one of the best shooters in basketball and also sneakily could be a secondary or tertiary ballhandler for New York, which desperately needs that skill set on its roster. Over the last five seasons, Kennard has made at least 43 percent of his 3s while also attempting at least four per game. He’s a sniper. Plain and simple. Now, it’s likely the Knicks’ taxpayer midlevel exception might not be enough to get Kennard. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he’s offered more than $5.7 million annually from another team. However, he is a CAA client, so maybe New York and its CAA army works some magic.
Chris Herrington: Luke Kennard is out tonight for the Grizzlies.
Drew Hill: Luke Kennard on the deadline: "I’ve been in rumors. I’ve been traded. I’ve seen it all. It’s a business at the end of the day. “... I’m a Grizzly right now. That’s where I am at and it’s where I want to be. I want to help this team win as much as I can."
