Trail Blazers PR: INJURY UPDATE: Deni Avdija and Scoot Henderson are OUT for tonight’s game vs. PHX.

Joe Freeman: Injury notes tonight for the Blazers, according to Tiago Splitter: •Blake Wesley will return tonight vs. the Cavaliers, playing in his first game since Halloween. •Deni Avdija is expected to play. •Scoot Henderson should make his season-debut "very, very soon."

Sean Highkin: Scoot Henderson said today at practice that he feels “amazing” and today he went through everything and felt physically like he could keep going. Wouldn’t say whether he’s going to play tomorrow. That’s up to the medical staff.

Sean Highkin: Splitter on Scoot: "He's progressing. Everybody's a little frustrated, but it's a tough injury where people tend to have a second injury. So we've got to be careful with him. He's a big part of our franchise, so we've got to protect him. He's feeling better day by day."

Sean Highkin: Scoot Henderson was running full-court sprints at the end of practice today. Tiago Splitter says he’s improving but they’re trying to be careful and avoid re-injury.

Adding to the misery, sophomore forward Cody Williams set a new NBA record for the worst single-game plus-minus in at least the last 30 years of tracking data, posting -60. The previous record of -58 was shared by Scoot Henderson and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. Williams started the game and scored 15 points over 32.5 minutes. This season, the 21-year-old is averaging 4.6 points and -4.2 plus-minus per game.

Sean Highkin: Latest updates on injured guys: Matisse Thybulle, Jrue Holiday and Scoot Henderson are doing non-contact stuff but still haven’t been fully cleared. Donovan Clingan did some drills but not full practice. Robert Williams III returned to practice after getting sick Sunday.

Michael Scotto: Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson will be re-evaluated in 2–4 weeks as he continues to progress through his rehabilitation for a left hamstring injury, team says. Blazers guard Jrue Holiday will also be re-evaluated in 1–2 weeks with a right calf strain.

The return of Scoot Henderson to the Portland Trail Blazers is not imminent, as it appears his torn hamstring will fall into the longer forecasts of his being sidelined. Entering his eighth week since tearing his left hamstring, the third-year point guard told The Athletic he has “made a lot of progress,” but he said his return to basketball activity remains “week to week.”

The Portland Trail Blazers have exercised the 2026-27 team option on the Rookie Scale contracts of guard Scoot Henderson, forward Kris Murray, and center Donovan Clingan, it was announced today by General Manager Joe Cronin. Henderson, selected No. 3 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Trail Blazers, appeared in 66 games (10 starts) during his second NBA season in 2024-25—averaging 12.7 points (41.9% FG, 35.4% 3FG, 76.7% FT), 5.1 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 26.7 minutes per game.
