Tony East: Full quote on Walker: "He is doing better. He is off crutches and he is walking with a slight limp now. So it's very unlikely that he'll be able to play in this series. But he is doing better. It would be great if he was available because I do think he would help us."

Dustin Dopirak: Lots of stuff to write from the Pacers' availability today, but some notes. Jarace Walker is still on crutches. And he jumped in the media scrum briefly to ask Tyrese Haliburton a question, but then just asked him if he could get a bacon cheeseburger from Culver's.

Indiana Pacers forward Jarace Walker will miss at least the first two games of the NBA Finals due to his right ankle injury suffered in the Eastern Conference finals clincher, coach Rick Carlisle told 107.5 The Fan on Monday. "He's going to be out for a while. I don't know how long. He certainly will not play in the first two games of the Finals," Carlisle said. Pacers forward Jarace Walker was on crutches with a right ankle injury following Indiana's 125-108 victory over the New York Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday night, and coach Rick Carlisle said he was uncertain of Walker's availability for the NBA Finals. Walker will have four full days to recover with Game 1 set for Thursday night at Oklahoma City. "He's young so that's good," Carlisle said. "I did not see a replay so I don't know how much, how far it turned over, how much weight he had on it. But when a guy goes down and stays down like that, you're always holding your breath."

While the Kings fans were showing their dismay in the fourth quarter, the Pacers were giddy. The starters howled on the bench while second-year forward Jarace Walker reprised All-Star Tyrese Haliburton's off-the-backboard kick-out assist for a Thomas Bryant 3-pointer and seldom-used 37-year-old veteran James Johnson Jr. drove and dished to 20-year-old rookie Johnny Furphy for a ferocious dunk. "It's just vibes and energy for us," Walker said. "Everybody's up. Everybody's happy for each other. Nobody's sulking if they didn't score. We're becoming more of a connected group and that goes a long way when we're trying to win games on the road."
