Real Madrid is once again moving early in the transfer market with an eye on next season. In addition to the advanced talks with Maledon since December and having Kramer already secured as Ibaka’s replacement—who is out of contract—another move the club is working on involves finding a new player. With Tavares and Bruno Fernando holding down the center position, they’re looking for a big man who can stretch the floor with shooting and play alongside a traditional center or pair up with Garuba, who seems more comfortable playing as a center rather than a power forward. According to what we’ve learned, Real Madrid has Dario Šarić’s name on the table.
Bruno Fernando is closer than ever to jump to Europe with Real Madrid being his preferred destination. Since the 7th of January, the 26-year-old center has been a free agent, he was linked to Fenerbahce, however per Eurohoops sources, Real Madrid has made progress in the talks with him and his move to Spain is more than possible at this point.
Aaron Rose: The Raptors have officially waived Bruno Fernando
The Toronto Raptors are expected to place 26-year-old forward/center Bruno Fernando on the waivers list over the next few hours to avoid picking up guaranteed salary for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. The decision has been confirmed by multiple reports in the United States, including notes about links between the Angolan big and Turkish Airlines EuroLeague outfit Fenerbahce Beko. It remains unclear whether Fernando will consider options outside the NBA as a free agent. However, potentially becoming an unrestricted free agent will indeed open a path toward Fener.

Michael Grange: Official announcement forthcoming but it appears that the Raptors have indeed waived Bruno Fernando, whose contract would have guaranteed Tuesday. Expectation is Raptors will keep roster spot open and use it on 10-days in the short term.
Josh Lewenberg: No Gradey Dick (hamstring tightness) or RJ Barrett (illness) for today’s NYE matinee in Boston. Immanuel Quickley remains out as well. Davion Mitchell and Bruno Fernando, who were both listed as questionable, are available.
Michael Grange: Bruce Brown, Jakob Poeltl, Jamal Shead and Ja’Kobe Walter all in lineup for Raptors. Davion Mitchell and Bruno Fernando (illness) are out, as is Immanuel Quickley (elbow).
Michael Grange: Scottie Barnes (orbital bone) will be re-evaluated Tuesday. Bruno Fernando (ankle) is day-to-day and out vs. Indy.

Blake Murphy: The Raptors amended Bruno Fernando's contract before he made the team this week, per a source. His deal was originally supposed to be fully guaranteed if he made the team. Sides agreed to remove the guarantee date. So he's playing on a non-guaranteed deal still.
Josh Lewenberg: Raptors have made final roster cuts, waiving Jared Rhoden, Jahmi’us Ramsey & Brenden Carlson. After a strong preseason, Jamison Battle is signing a 2-way contract (replacing Carlson). Bruno Fernando wins the 15th roster spot, giving them an extra big with Olynyk (back) banged up.
The only new information I have here is that, as of late last month, the Knicks were at the very least exploring the market for a veteran center. Earlier in the offseason, the Knicks had some interest in signing Bruno Fernando. Fernando signed a nonguaranteed deal with the Raptors in early August. As noted last month, the Knicks also made an offer to Omer Yurtseven earlier in free agency. Yurtseven didn’t give the offer strong consideration and last week agreed to terms with European club Panathinaikos.
