The jury is still out regarding whether Pritchard, Conley, and the rest of the squad will hit the links in Charleston. But the Celtics head coach continues to maintain that the weather should have no impact on their plans. “It hasn’t,” Mazzulla said. “We play indoors, practice indoors. At the end of the day, it may impact some of the extracurricular stuff, which also — it shouldn’t. We’ve gotten everything we’ve needed to get out of Charleston so far, and we got two more days to do it.”

What James was referring to were the tree limbs that hung over the backyard basketball court set up at the Middletons' home in Charleston, South Carolina. Every so often when Khris was young, he would complain to his father about the need to remove those limbs so he could shoot freely. Saturday morning during all-star media day at Charlotte's Bojangles Coliseum, James recalled the answer he used to give to his son when the topic of the tree limbs came up. "No, we’re going to shoot through ‘em," he said.
Middleton, a two-time All-Star, and the 21-year-old Nesmith not only hail from Charleston, S.C., but also attended the same high school, Porter-Gaud. Some scouts tag Nesmith as the top 3-point shooter in the draft, but his standing isn’t as a high lottery pick. He was injured in his sophomore season, suffering a stress fracture in his right foot that limited him to 14 games. “We compare him to Khris Middleton,’’ Stackhouse told The Post in an email Sunday. “He’s perfect for the wing spot. He has the size. He has the strength and in addition to being a shooter, he is dedicated to the defensive side as well.”
