Wake Forest freshman Bobi Klintman, a 6-foot-10 wing with terrific shooting upside and strong feel for the game, is declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft while maintaining his eligibility. And while many may not have heard of Klintman at this stage, his pre-draft decision is poised to be a perfect encapsulation of the NBA’s feeling of the next two drafts as a whole. He’s also going to be the perfect test case for how far NBA teams are willing to go in order to take a home run swing on the newest obsession within front offices: the big, skilled wing.
“I’m declaring for the draft while maintaining my eligibility at Wake Forest,” Klintman told The Athletic. “I am looking to learn what teams think about me, trying to find a team that has a good track record of player development. I’m just trying to find a good fit for me. I recognize that I have a lot of room to grow with my game, and I want to reach my full potential. I think I can do that in the NBA, but I want to find the right situation, which is why I’m also maintaining my eligibility.”
