The Bulldogs return home to host Santa Clara, looking for a much-needed bounce-back win and confidence booster. Before the game, Gonzaga legend and three-time NBA All-Star Domantas Sabonis will be honored, with his jersey displayed in The Kennel. He will become just the sixth player in program history to receive such an honor.

Kevin Garnett on Anthony Edwards: 'He's like a young '84 Michael Jordan'

One person who is impressed with what he's seen from Edwards this year is none other than Minnesota franchise legend Kevin Garnett, who recently took to All the Smoke Productions to heap some lofty praise in the former Georgia Bulldog's direction. “He's like a young '84 [Michael] Jordan,” said Garnett, per All the Smoke Productions on X, the social media platform formerly referred to as Twitter. “…I'm watching how he's coming through the lane. If [Karl-Anthony Towns] wasn't on his team, he would average thirty-something. You hear what I'm saying to you?… He turns the corner, if you ain't there, he throwing you in.”

Zeng committed to Gonzaga last fall, but sources say …

Zeng committed to Gonzaga last fall, but sources say the departure of assistant coach Tommy Lloyd — who led the recruitment of Zeng to the Bulldogs — played a major role in the 18-year-old's decision to head to the G League now. Lloyd recently agreed to become the new head coach at Arizona. Zeng is set to join an Ignite program that made the G League postseason in its debut 2020-21 season. Last year, the Ignite signed prep stars Jonathan Kuminga, Jalen Green, Daishen Nix and Isaiah Todd to contracts. Green and Kuminga are potential top-five draft picks in this year’s NBA draft.

Gonzaga forward Corey Kispert is withdrawing his name from the NBA draft and will return to the Bulldogs for his senior season, putting them in contention to be the preseason No. 1 team in the country. Kispert was a potential second-round pick, ranking No. 47 overall and No. 6 among small forwards in ESPN's NBA draft rankings. But he, like teammate Joel Ayayi last week, is heading back to Spokane, Washington, to compete for a national championship.

Junior forward Killian Tillie and sophomore guard Zach Norvell Jr. are among the Bulldogs who could submit their names, if only to go through the pre-draft process and gain feedback from NBA scouts who’ll tell them where they need to improve before making the jump to professional basketball. “I’m going to talk it over with my family,” Norvell said. “Not sure yet.” Tillie had a response along the same lines: “It’s way too early right now.”

Travis Leslie is in attendance at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago this week, where the former Georgia Bulldogs forward will be able to showcase his basketball playing skills, go through a series of agility drills, have his height and wingspan be measured by the NBA and be interviewed by prospective NBA teams and the media. Leslie wasn't able to make any sort of noticeable impact on the court Thursday morning, but he did draw the ire of current Memphis Grizzlies wing Tony Allen when the NBA Draft hopeful talked to Jonathan Givony of Draft Express. "I feel like I'm a little better than Tony Allen," Leslie said according to Givony's Twitter feed. "Hopefully I can be compared to someone better. He's basically known for his D."
