Jon Rothstein: Source: West Virginia’s Brenen Lorient has withdrawn from the 2025 NBA Draft and will return to school next season. Transfer from North Texas who averaged 11.7 PPG last year.
Jeff Goodman: Treysen Eaglestaff will withdraw from the 2025 NBA Draft and return to school next season, his agent @GeorgeSLangberg of GSL Sports Group told @TheFieldOf68. No surprise here. The 6-6 guard will be an important piece for Ross Hodge in his first season at West Virginia.
Luckily for Coulibaly, he’s had Tyler Relph to challenge him to do so. A former Mr. New York Basketball winner, West Virginia recruit and St. Bonaventure standout, Relph turned his attention to molding current and future pros after his career was over. Since 2009, he’s worked with over 10,000 players at all levels, including household-name NBA and WNBA clientele. He instructs at private sessions and also has his own gym at the Tyler Relph Basketball Lab in Addison, Texas, which opened in Oct. 2020. Relph’s methods are careful and detailed — and equally as intense. Since Coulibaly is just 20 years old, he doesn’t hold back.

West Virginia celebrated the life of NBA great Jerry West, the school's career leading scorer, at its sellout game Saturday against No. 2 Iowa State, and announced at halftime that his No. 44 would be retired across all sports at the university. Video tributes and stories about West, who died on June 12, 2024, at the age of 86, were shown throughout the game, including past clips from Pat Riley, Magic Johnson and former West Virginia stars Rod Thorn, Willie Akers and the late “Hot Rod” Hundley.
As part of Saturday's remembrance, Los Angeles Clippers chairman Steve Ballmer announced a $5 million gift to support West Virginia students in West’s memory. West worked for the Clippers as a consultant for the seven years prior to his death. Fans posed for photos next to a statue of West outside West Virginia’s arena and were given commemorative gold-and-blue pennants with the No. 44 and the inscription “Forever a Mountaineer.” The university retired West's No. 44 uniform number in 2005.
Tim Reynolds: A pregame tribute here at Summer League to the great Jerry West. Some of West Virginia's finest are here as well -- including the great Rod Thorn and the great Mike D'Antoni.
Souichi Terada: Joe Mazzulla says Jerry West called him his junior year at West Virginia to give him an ass-chewing. Says it was one of the most influential phone calls of his life. “He had a tough way of showing you that he loved you.”

Jalen Bridges, speaking Thursday after working out with the Golden State Warriors, said that experience helped prepare him this time around. I feel like last year really, really, really helped me. It was the first time I really got to be around professionals because, in West Virginia, there are not a lot of guys who have done what I’m trying to do. Being around guys in the league, seeing how they carry themselves on and off the court, seeing their habits and just taking that and making them my habits and taking them back to school with me helped me be ready for this moment and perform in these workouts.
