Shams Charania: Restricted free agent Santi Aldama has agreed to a three-year, $52.5 million deal to return to the Memphis Grizzlies, sources tell ESPN. CAA’s Austin Brown, Steven Heumann and Max Sadiman finalized the deal with the Grizzlies for Aldama, who had a career year last season.

There was a growing anticipation as 6 PM ET approached that Memphis is indeed poised to secure a commitment from the in-demand Ty Jerome. The ultimate price point for such a deal remains critical to the Grizzlies' other offseason goals: Completing a renegotiation-and-extension with Jaren Jackson Jr. Jr. and maintaining sufficient flexibility to match offers to restricted free agent Santi Aldama.
Chris Herrington: Haven’t seen this anywhere, but in addition to a qualifying offer for Santi Aldama, the Grizzlies also extended a two-way qualifying offer to make Cam Spencer a restricted free agent.
Michael Scotto: Sources: The Memphis Grizzlies have tendered Santi Aldama his one-year, $5.94 million qualifying offer, making him a restricted free agent. Aldama averaged career-highs in points (12.5), field goal % (.483), 3-point % (.368), rebound (6.4) and assists (2.9) for the Grizzlies.

Zach Lowe: "Because Santi Aldama has full mid-level deals, I think, waiting for him. At least that's the scuttlebutt I've heard: that he is sought after enough by a team like Detroit, for instance, with the full mid-level. There's a lot of teams with the full mid-level. He's an interesting kind of combination of skills, and I think they're going to have to pay to retain him. And when you have full mid-level deals, if you do in the open market, your incumbent team might have to pay a little bit more than that using your bird rights to do it, and then they'd have the salary cap room exception on top of that."
Sources say that Memphis, in the wake of the Desmond Bane trade, is focused on preserving as much financial flexibility as possible to renegotiate-and-extend the contract of star forward Jaren Jackson Jr. as well as fending off external interest in restricted free agent Santi Aldama.
