The Clippers recently re-signed James Harden and added Brook Lopez and John Collins to go with Kawhi Leonard. The team won 50 games this past season despite having Leonard play in just 37 of them and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Nuggets in seven games. “We just thought the Clippers presented an opportunity for Brad to really be the best version of himself, to get back to being exactly who he is, which is a multiple time All-Star and All-NBA player,” Bartelstein said. Beal made three All-Star teams and an All-NBA team in his 11 years in Washington.
Look for Tyronn Lue, who likes big lineups, to experiment with playing Lopez and Zubac together. “I think we complement each other extremely well,” Lopez said. “Obviously, we’ll be very big. I think we’d be great defensively, just dominating the paint, sealing the paint off. Then offensively, we complement each other there as well, spread the floor for him, give him all the room in the paint for them to go wild.”
“We’ll see. I’m capable of a lot of stuff,” Lopez said. “Obviously, I’m comfortable spreading the floor. I’m comfortable being in the post. I love defending, I love being anchor on defense. Bottom line, I just want to help the team win. Whatever they need me to do, whatever they see fit for my role, I’m going to be working as hard as possible to be great at that.”

Yossi Gozlan: The Milwaukee Bucks are hard capped to the first apron by re-signing Kevin Porter Jr. with the bi-annual. They cannot sign and trade Brook Lopez to the Clippers since he only got a two year deal. They still have the $14.1 million mid-level to spend.
Shams Charania: Free agent center Brook Lopez has agreed to a two-year, $18 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, sources tell ESPN. Clippers and Lopez's agents at Wasserman negotiate a new deal for the 2021 Bucks champion to exit Milwaukee and land in Los Angeles.
Armed with the $14.1 million mid-level exception, the Lakers are expected to chase Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez and the Atlanta Hawks’ Clint Capela, with the surprise addition of Portland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton as another target on their list.
Shams Charania: The Lakers perspective is they're doing everything they can to build the team the right way, to try to compete for a championship. We know they're in the center market right now. So you look at centers like Brook Lopez, Clint Capela, Al Horford, all available in the market. They're also have Dorian Finney-Smith, he's got a player option decision, $15.4 million player option. He also faces a deadline later today, so they're doing what they can, but LeBron James clearly is of the mindset that he wants to compete for a championship, and he's going to be monitoring very closely. Are the Lakers going to make the move that puts them in position to seriously compete in that vaulted Western Conference? And then, if not, where do those conversations go that becomes a subplot of this offseason.
