Boston waived big Luka Samanic so he can head to Maine when training camp opens Oct. 24, then signed former Providence College guard A.J. Reeves to an Exhibit 10 before he was waived and sent to Maine on Tuesday. On Wednesday, they waived guard Brodric Thomas, as first reported by Hoopshype’s Mike Scotto, and signed 7-footer Reggie Kissoonlal, who was playing in Denmark last season before the 26-year-old caught the eye of the Celtics’ scouting department. The Houston Rockets hold Thomas’ G League rights, so he is unlikely to join the Maine Celtics, team sources told The Athletic.

Keith Smith: The Boston Celtics have officially signed Brodric Thomas.
If Brodric Thomas, who was on a two-way contract last season, and veteran Denzel Valentine are added to the training camp roster as expected, that would leave Boston two guys short of the camp maximum of 20. A league source said that the final tweaks would probably not be made until early September. Training camp will begin Sept. 27.
That leaves the team with three available slots for the opening night roster. As of Tuesday, the Celtics mostly were expected to fill out the rest of the training camp roster with young veterans willing to vie for those spots. Recent additions Noah Vonleh and Bruno Caboclo will be in that group, while last year’s two-way player Brodric Thomas and former Kings draft pick Justin Jackson are viewed as strong candidates to join them, league sources told The Athletic.
JD Shaw: The Boston Celtics have tendered a qualifying offer to two-way guard Brodric Thomas, source tells @HoopsRumors. Thomas will be a restricted free agent.
