Bill Cartwright: Michael, just like Stacey, Pip, Horace, we're all different, but we have the same goals. The goal is to win a championship. Some of us click more because we're the same age. Like I said, I was the old guy. And plus, I had kids. I had four kids. So when you guys were going out, you guys were partying, I'm going home with the kids and hanging out there. So just different times, but with that group we have with being special is that I thought our owner was great. Jerry Krause did his job. We had the best players in the league. We had the best I call them second group of starters to come in. Guys were able to come in and make their contributions and our goal was to win the championship. What a special time. So, everything I have for all of my teammates is only positive.
Darius Miles: Yeah, I really wasn’t planning—nobody was planning on going to the Clippers. I thought I was going to get picked by the Bulls. Me and Jerry Krause didn’t really have too many good meetings, but they were still like, "Yeah, we’re not gonna pass up on you." It was a thing about me wearing braids that was kind of an issue—me and my mom were involved in that. My mom was a big Bulls fan, coming from Illinois, and she asked him, "Man, you let a guy wear coloring in his hair, but you can’t let my child wear braids?"
KC Johnson: Armstrong going back to his executive roots. Worked under Jerry Krause in similar capacity before becoming an agent who represented several stars, including Derrick Rose.
For years, there were whispers that Jordan and Pippen used that game to “send a message” to Kukoc over tensions with then-GM Jerry Krause. But Kukoc dismissed any notion of Michael trash-talking. “No I don’t think so,” he said. “Michael was one of those guys if you don’t wake him up, then he’s gonna play… but if you’re going to start talking trash to him, make SURE that you can cover it! Because if you can’t, he’ll hit you for 45-50 and make you feel each and EVERY bucket he scores.”
In an interview on Pablo Torre Finds Out released Thursday, director Jason Hehir gave the details on a behind the scenes look at Scottie Pippen dissing Chicago Bulls executive Jerry Krause and why the NBA pulled it. “The one thing that the NBA pushed back on in the entirety of this process was a clip where Scottie, in the locker room, they were joking around saying what they were going to do when they won the title,” Hehir explained. “And Scottie, I’m paraphrasing here, basically said, ‘I’m going to stick a cattle prod up Jerry Krause’s butt and give that a guy a heart attack,’ or something like that.”

The NBA felt Pippen’s joke was a bridge too far when it came to Krause, a beloved figure within the league. “I included that in our rough cuts because I wanted people to see what this guy was going through day in and day out. And that’s the one thing that they made me take out in three or four years of doing this,” Hehir said. “It wasn’t like Michael calling people a b**** or anything, it was that comment from Scottie to Jerry Krause, in deference to the Krause family.”
Stacey King: She was still hurt by it afterwards when she went back to her suite and I was told she was so upset she was still shaking. I talked to her after the game and she was still bothered by it. I don’t care what anyone says Jerry Krause nor his family deserved that bs tonight! Love him or hate him but put some respect on his name! Jerry Krause put 2 totally different teams together and brought 6 NBA Championships to the city of Chicago! Remember there’s 10 NBA teams that still haven’t won a single one and we have 6…🤔
KC Johnson: Spurs coach Gregg Popovich on Jerry Krause boos: “I feel the same way about that as when Kawhi Leonard got booed here. It’s unnecessary. It’s impolite. It’s ignorant. If anything, it’s like a snapshot of the world we live in today. Meanness seems to be a lot more condoned.”
Julia Poe: DeMar on the crowd booing Jerry Krause: “It just sucks their family had to endure something like that. You can never take away what he created. Without Jerry, there wouldn’t be the historic Chicago Bulls history. You gotta give him credit for as long as basketball is around.” pic.twitter.com/bkTaOJ8cz8

Regardless of how one might regard Krause now, booing a deceased man in front of his widow is going to earn some criticism. One of the many voices criticizing the booing fans was King. “We just had a remarkable ceremony, bringing back these legends. And I’ll tell you what, Chicago is a sports town. And what we witnessed today when Jerry Krause’s name was called — and the people that booed Jerry Krause and his widow, who was accepting this honor for him — it was the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I hurt for that lady. It brought her to tears. And whoever booed her in this arena should be ashamed of themselves. That’s not Chicago. That’s New York, Philly…Chicago’s not like that.
