Matt Infield: Cedric Coward with a golden answer on Taj Gibson. "He's not old, but older...for this team he's older." A player we'll keep anonymous in the background: "Taj is old as f**k." ???? But reminded the young guys he's in tune by hitting someone with a "pause" ????

Grizzlies PR: Status Update: Cedric Coward, Taj Gibson and GG Jackson II are out tonight vs. Boston. Rayan Rupert (Two-Way Transfer) also is out.
“I’m just myself,” Gibson said. “I’m a team-first guy. I love my teammates extremely hard. I’ve been around the league a long time, and I know how to communicate with guys the right way." “I’ve never been the kind of guy to rub teammates the wrong way,” he added. “Before I say anything to someone else, I judge myself first.” Since arriving in Memphis, he has quickly become one of the more vocal voices on the bench. During timeouts, he’s often among the first players encouraging teammates as they come off the floor. "Taj has been awesome," forward Olivier-Maxence Porsper said. "Since the moment he stepped in the locker room, anytime I come off the court, he's the first guy to tell me something on the bench. ... He's super encouraging. He's been a great energy and voice in this locker room."
Michael Scotto: The Grizzlies signed Taj Gibson to a 2-year deal, which is guaranteed for the rest of this season and includes a non-guaranteed $3.8 million salary for the 2026-27 season, league sources told @hoopshype. Gibson’s played 1,002 regular-season games and enters his 17th season at 40.
