A federal judge on Monday dismissed a sweeping antitrust lawsuit brought by Mario Chalmers and other prolific college basketball players against the NCAA. Chalmers, the former Kansas Jayhawk, filed the antitrust class action last year alongside 15 other former college hoopers, who claimed that the NCAA is unjustly enriching itself off the name, image and likeness (NIL) of its athletes to promote the annual March Madness basketball tournament.
He spoke fondly of the Heat’s rivalry with the Boston Celtics and fellow Kansas Jayhawk, Paul Pierce. “You know it’s always gonna be bad blood between Boston and Miami,” Chalmers tells Scoop B Radio. “I talk crap to Paul Pierce and he talks crap to me. It’s always gonna be a rivalry.”
Gradey Dick is back home from Canada this week, fresh off his rookie NBA campaign. The former Wichita Collegiate Spartan, Sunrise Christian Academy Buffalo and Kansas Jayhawk is taking time to hang out with young fans in Wichita at his first basketball camp.

Kansas head coach Bill Self revealed plenty during an extended sit-down with NCAA reporter Andy Katz on Monday, including what he expects Kansas freshman guard Johnny Furphy to decide after entering the 2024 NBA Draft. Self said Furphy, who arrived late last summer from Australia to enroll as a freshman at KU, outperformed any reasonable expectation, thus playing himself into an invite to the NBA Draft Combine.
Former Kansas Jayhawks guard Christian Braun is one series removed from becoming the 5th player of all time to hold an interesting title. The Nuggets guard can become just the fifth player ever to win both an NCAA National Championship and an NBA Championship in back-to-back years. If the Denver Nuggets can win their first NBA Championship in franchise history this season, Braun would join an exclusive list of four players including Bill Russell, Henry Bibby, Magic Johnson, and Billy Thompson.
Kansas forward Jalen Wilson has declared for the 2023 NBA Draft, the junior announced on his Twitter page. “Dear Jayhawk Nation: It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” he said. “This magical place has changed my life forever, and I will always be appreciative of my time playing with Kansas across my chest. Through the tough times, and the brightest days, I can always count on God, my family and my forever love for KU. “No matter where life takes me next, I will always have a home in Lawrence.”

The Jayhawks basketball team gained some additional depth for the upcoming season, as Arizona State transfer Remy Martin withdrew his name from the NBA Draft on July 6.
Kansas forward Jalen Wilson announced that he has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft today. “I am grateful to say that with prayer and discussion with Coach (Bill) Self and my family, I will test the NBA draft process,” said Wilson. Wilson will retain NCAA eligibility while testing the draft process.
Bill Self knows having an NBA team in Kansas City might not be the best thing for nearby college programs — at least from a ticket-sales perspective. And yet, the KU basketball coach seems fully on board with the idea of the Toronto Raptors potentially putting down temporary roots in Kansas City, if indeed they needed to relocate.
