Danny Green reacts to Grant Williams’ claim that LeBron James had a penthouse during the 2020 NBA Bubble: “I was in section 8, but they just stopped testing people. So, we called it section 8 cuz it was the hallways that smelled like tree. Sh*t was crazy. The stench was crazy. So, like our hallway, we had JR, you know, he was on the live going crazy. You know what I’m saying? But, you know, we had guys that, like to partake. Yeah. So, my hallway had it. But, you know Bron was right down the hall. We all on the same floor.”

Though the pecking order in Boston might seem interesting to outsiders, including several former players who have spoken about it recently, Williams does not put any stock in the conversation. “It’s the same dumb s–t they’ve been talking about since I was here,” Williams, who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Celtics, told The Athletic. “So I think neither one of (Tatum or Brown) should pay any attention to it because they’re both phenomenal human beings, but also phenomenal players. And no matter what the media says, they’ve shown that they can play with one another and they add to one another’s games. And no matter who gets the attention, no matter who gets the praise, the ultimate goal is winning. “Both of those two deserve to be in the Celtics rafters one day. And by doing it together, they’ll be able to do it at a high level.”

How little attention have people paid since the Celtics drafted Tatum in 2017 and paired him with Brown on the wing? The Celtics have won more playoff games than any team since Tatum’s rookie season, and that isn’t solely because of their overwhelming talent. They have consistently gone on deep postseason runs with Tatum and Brown because they, and the players around them, have been willing to put the team first. “He’s an All-NBA player,” Williams said of Tatum, adding that the trickle-down effect should help Boston’s role players, too. “And adding an All-NBA player to this roster, as we all know, is going to take them to another level. He’s going to impact the game both on the offensive and defensive side of the basketball.”
NBA Courtside: Grant Williams says LeBron had his own house in the NBA bubble. “He had a house on the campus. They had their own set up. Their team was taken care of”. Markieff Morris: lol cap he was two doors down from me! Dog was locked down just like the rest of us. We had a madden league. We played all the games in his room. We was damn near gaming all night! Grant Williams: The whole team was in the hotel. Bron had a room as well. At the time it was communicated that he had the room as well as a house on campus. I spoke with that knowledge but I’ll say publicly i was wrong and spoke with inaccurate information.

Charlotte Hornets: The Charlotte Hornets have added Grant Williams (right knee injury management) to their injury report; he's out tonight. Tidjane Salaun could make his first start since last April.

Officials whistled the Hornets’ Grant Williams for an offensive foul against the Pistons’ Paul Reed, and Lee had seen enough, charging out onto the floor. Lee’s pronounced anger forced Brandon Miller to hold him back — he was that angry. “I take ownership of it,” Lee said. “I thought that we were competing our tails off. I thought that it was a very physical game and you know, Grant’s walking down the paint and barely touched somebody and the guy fell over and that’s what we’re going to call the foul.

The Charlotte Hornets frontcourt is getting a reinforcement. Grant Williams is probable to make his season debut on Saturday at the Chicago Bulls. Williams has missed the first part of the season while rehabbing from a torn ACL he suffered in late November of 2024. The Hornets frontcourt can use the additional depth, as Miles Bridges is the only real power forward on the roster. In addition, rookie starting center Ryan Kalkbrenner and backup center Mason Plumlee have missed recent games due to injuries.

Rod Boone: NEWS: Grant Williams is probable for tomorrow's game in Utah. The return is happening. Ryan Kalkbrenner is also probable.

More than a year removed from tearing his right ACL, Williams is apparently in the final stages of his comeback. There’s no definitive date for his return, but it could be trending to take place this month. “Grant’s obviously been out for an extended period of time with his injury now, has been able to be more involved in team activities and five-on-five play,” Lee said, “and so far he’s responded really well. “But when you’ve missed that much time from basketball, we want to make sure that we’re reintegrating him into game play at the appropriate time.”

Rod Boone: No change in #Hornets injury report for tomorrow's game against Philadelphia. Josh Green and Grant Williams remain out and that's it.
