Anthony Slater: Steph Curry out in Tahoe asked how long he planned to keep playing in the NBA: “I don’t know. I’m just taking it two years at a time. That’s what I have left on my contract right now.”
“Well, I really feel bad for everybody at TNT, all the people I've been working with for the last 24 years, they're like family to me,’’ Barkley told CNBC today at the American Century Celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe. “I really hope we match. Honestly in my heart, I think we have lost the package. That's my honest opinion. But I really hope we get a last-minute reprieve for the people at Turner.’’
Speaking at the American Century Celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Barkley told CNBC: "The main reason I was talking about next year being my last year — I wouldn't feel comfortable going to work for another network. It'll be 25 years that I've been working with Turner, and I love everybody at Turner, but at this age [61] to go and start over, I don't know if I want to do that."

NBA players love golf. A few, like Stephen Curry — who won the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe last summer with an eagle putt on the final hole — like to play competitively. Lakers’ guard Austin Reaves tried to take that to another level and qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour’s Visit Knoxville Open. He played in a qualifying event on Monday but didn’t make the event — by 11 strokes. Reaves shot a respectable 76 (+6), but much like in basketball, the jump from “he’s good at this” to professional is massive.

Defending Tahoe celebrity golf winner Stephen Curry is forgoing this year's tournament so that can he focus on the Paris Olympics. “I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to defend my title at the American Century Championship in Tahoe this summer, but the chance to represent my country and, hopefully, win an Olympic gold medal the first time at the 2024 Games in Paris is an opportunity that I simply could not pass up,” said Curry.

Charles Barkley just threw all of his support behind the LGBTQ+ community and Bud Light while out in Lake Tahoe this week ... telling the haters to piss off during a powerful speech at a local bar. While up on stage during a break in the action at the American Century Celebrity golf tournament ... the NBA legend grabbed a microphone and took aim at transphobes, homophobes and critics of Bud Light. "I want y'all to drink this f***ing beer," he said. "I want y'all to drink this f***ing beer. I got three cases of Bud Light." "Hey," he added, "And I want to say this -- if you're gay, bless you. If you're transgender, bless you. And, if you have a problem with that, f*** you!"

For the 33rd straight year, Barkley was in Lake Tahoe for the American Century Championship this week and he was interviewed by CBS Bay Area’s Vern Glenn before the event. During their chat, Glenn asked Barkley to describe what makes TNT’s Inside the NBA so successful. “We’ve got it down to pretty much fun and basketball,” Barkley said. “You have to reach a happy medium because nobody wants to talk basketball all the time and nobody wants to have fun all the time. You have to try to reach a happy place. And we’ve been at it for a long time, we’ve got great fan support, we’ve got great people who work for us, but I think the key is we just have people who understand nobody wants to talk about basketball for six hours a night, they want to have fun.

Curry, who spoke at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, said the Warriors could add some good players with both picks. "At 7 and 14, there’s probably going to be some legit talent there that, if it’s the best player and right fit, of course, they could make an impact and be ready right away to play some significant minutes and hopefully get better throughout the season and be ready for a potential playoff run."
JEREMY LEVINE WAS just checking his phone quickly before heading out to spend a January Sunday morning skiing in Lake Tahoe. Instead, within minutes, he was spending $100,000 to buy a 13-second Zion Williamson highlight. The play, Williamson soaring and swatting a Malik Beasley shot into the stands -- his first career block -- from a game on Jan. 24, 2020, is available to watch for free. But Levine didn't buy to watch it per se, though it is a particularly impressive display of Williamson's elite leaping ability. He bought it because he's hoping this encapsulated video clip, which he doesn't own the exclusive rights to, will eventually jump in value from six figures to seven.
What gives Curry hope that the Warriors can get back on the right track during the 2020-21 season? "We still have a great core," Curry told reporters Friday during an interview after the first round of the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe. "We have an understanding of who we are, and like you said, it was a crazy year with my hand injury, Klay being out all year, Draymond in and out of the lineup with injuries all year, a lot of new guys. It's definitely different.”
Coming off his fifth straight NBA Finals appearance, basketball superstar Steph Curry is returning to Lake Tahoe for the 30th annual American Century Championship. The popular celebrity golf tournament will be held July 9-14 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
