Shamit Dua: There really hasn't been any updates for the Pelicans search at the moment. The team is still evaluating and to my understanding the 5 names under consideration at this moment in time are: Borrego Ham Hetzel Mosley Rondo

Shams Charania: “Anyone that knows anything about Orlando, they’re going to keep things very buttoned up in terms of, this is now the start of the process. They fired Jamahl Mosley. There was a point that I heard over the last few weeks that, even though a lot of people around the NBA expected this outcome if the Magic were to lose in the first round, no real names had surfaced, or there was not that back-channel conversation that took place. But now Jeff Weltman and the Magic will be going through their search. Listen, there’s going to be a ton of names that get thrown around. I particularly don’t see Dusty May. I think he has a good thing going at Michigan.”

Bickerstaff: “Organizations obviously have the right to make their choices. I feel like this is a wrong choice, to be honest with you. Jamahl did a heck of a job of taking that organization and that team from lottery to playoff team, year in, year out. I don't think there's been a team whose star players have been injured more than his star players were injured. And for him to be able to hold the ship down and make it to the playoffs year in, year out says a lot about his ability to coach team, build character, develop players, and create culture and environment. So I know he'll get a job, and the next job, whatever franchise he goes to will be better off for it.”

Shamit Dua: Many people have already linked Mosley and the Pelicans, for months. I can confirm the Pelicans are expected to explore conversations with Mosely now that he is officially available, per source.

Shams Charania: BREAKING: The Orlando Magic have dismissed head coach Jamahl Mosley, sources tell ESPN. Mosley's tenure in Orlando finishes after five seasons, including three consecutive playoff runs from 2023 to 2026. Orlando had a first-round elimination for the third straight time Sunday.

Joe Cowley: Was told by a very good source that Orlando's locker room was a mess and Mosley had no control. He wasn't going to survive even if Magic got past Detroit. There's a major Banchero problem. Donovan would walk into a very talented but dysfunctional circus.

Jeremias Engelmann: Jamahl Mosley - from what I've been told while with the Mavs - was somewhat of a manipulative schemer (though many higher-ups on NBA teams' payrolls appear to be) But Orlando went 3-1 with Franz Wagner - a player who remains underrated and clearly belongs among the NBA's top-15

This will be a difficult offseason for the Magic, one marked by at least some changes. League sources have whispered since late October that Mosley’s job could be in jeopardy, but Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman declined to make an in-season coaching change despite several puzzling lopsided defeats. “These guys laid it all on the line in this game, and that’s all (we’ve) asked them to do, again,” Mosley said Sunday. “And that’s part of being able to coach this group, that they found a way to fight no matter what the circumstances, and that that’s the one thing that I want to say. “I’m appreciative most of all for these guys.”

Very close friends Jamahl Mosley and JB Bickerstaff said they wouldn’t talk during the series, the only time they don’t talk all year. But before tip, Mosley waited at halfcourt so the two coaches could give each other a Game 7 hug. pic.twitter.com/kNiFuJ0Gr0

Jason Beede: “Mindset in Game 7 is pretty much everything,” #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said ahead of Game 7 at Detroit. “I think our guys are in a great mental space because at the end of the day we’re not asking them to do anything they haven’t done before.”

Jason Beede: “We always respond,” #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said pre-game. “… That’s what I know about this group and who they are and what they’re a capable of accomplishing. Because they’ve always responded when their backs have been against the wall and a Game 7 is just that.”
