Chris Haynes: Undrafted free agent Anthony Lamb of Vermont - two-time America East Conference Player of the Year - has reached an agreement with the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

The Milwaukee Bucks have added a two-time America East player of the year to their herd for the summer. Former University of Vermont star Trae Bell-Haynes received an invite from the franchise to join its NBA Summer League squad in Las Vegas next month. Bell-Haynes, who led the Catamounts to a 27-8 record and NIT appearance in his final season, was one of 40 players invited to the NBA Global Camp, a pre-draft showcase, in Italy earlier this month.

There’s sad news involving an America East alumnus as former Vermont all-conference forward Trevor Gaines died Wednesday at age 29. Retired Vermont coach Tom Brennan told the Burlington Free Press that he’d heard Gaines died while playing a pickup basketball game in Las Vegas, where he lived. Brennan said Gaines had also received treatment for kidney problems.
