Juwan Howard is not in trouble and is returning to his role as Michigan’s head coach. Athletic director Warde Manuel made that announcement on Friday night, noting Howard has been cleared both medically and after an investigation into a recent incident he was involved in.

Ollie has three years left on his contract with UConn after signing a five-year extension in 2014. But with former Huskies athletic director Warde Manuel leaving for the University of Michigan earlier this season, Ollie has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for another team without incurring fees from a buyout, according to sources familiar with the deal. A source added, however, those terms would not go into effect until March, though the costs are believed to be relatively nominal.

Since leading the Huskies to the championship April 7, Ollie has been mentioned as a candidate for several NBA teams, most often the Lakers. But Ollie, who has four years left on his UConn contract, remains in talks for a new deal with the school. "It's progressing," he said. "We're talking and hopefully we can get together once all this quiets down and me and [AD Warde Manuel] can have a nice talk and hopefully get everything situated."

Ollie has been mentioned as a potential candidate for the Lakers' opening since Mike D'Antoni resigned on Wednesday. When reached Friday, Ollie said there was nothing going on with the Lakers. UConn athletic director Warde Manuel did not respond to ESPN for comment.
