Another interesting note from our research found that only two other times before Saturday’s Luka Doncic-for-Anthony Davis trade had reigning All-NBA players been moved the following season in deals involving each other. It first happened in the 1979 offseason when 1st Team All-NBAer Paul Westphal was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Seattle SuperSonics for Dennis Johnson, who was coming off a 2nd Team All-NBA campaign in ’79. Then, in the 2012 offseason, the Magic traded their 1st Team All-NBA center, Howard, to the Lakers in a very complicated four-team deal that saw L.A. star big man Andrew Bynum, who had just made 2nd Team All-NBA the season prior, head to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Jorge Sierra: Trae Young (25) passed Pete Maravich in assists last night. He's now No. 160 all-time behind Paul Westphal.
Gerald Bourguet: Forgot to tweet this the other night, but don't think this should get lost in the weeds: Monty Williams (192) passed Paul Westphal (191) on the Suns' all-time coaching wins list

Duane Rankin: "He said, 'Chuck, you're not going to talk to us?' I said, 'Who you talking to? My name is Charles, not Chuck.' He said 'Oh Paul call you Chuck.' I said 'From this day forward, my name is going to be Chuck.' I had never been called Chuck until I got traded to Phoenix." #Suns RIP
Duane Rankin: "Every time I saw him, I told him that story. I said, 'You changed my name .'" Charles Barkley shares story about how Paul Westphal started everyone calling him Chuck. #Suns pic.twitter.com/XytdvkLWrV
Andrew Greif: Suns coach Monty Williams on the late Paul Westphal: "My experience with him was limited, I heard way more about him than I experienced, but the time I had with him was really cool. ... I've watched him treat people with a great deal of care and he just valued people."
Duane Rankin: "I'm just sad for Cindy. She's been through an awful lot. Everyone should be praying for her." Kerry Eggers: So sorry to hear of the death of Paul Westphal to brain cancer at 70. Paul was always great to deal with during his time coaching @Phoenix Suns & Sonics. There wasn’t any big shot about him, even though he had been a great player at USC and in the NBA. Tough to lose a good one so young.

Marc Stein: Terribly sad news about an absolute NBA legend and one of the game's great gentlemen. Only got to cover Westy as a coach but he was a star on the floor and on the bench. Tremendous privilege to see his @Hoophall induction in 2019 and the wonderful speech you knew he would give
Carmichael Dave: Just saw this. Coach was as class as class can be. That term gets thrown around, but he’s the epitome. Always kind, always smiling, always took the time and was so patient and eager to connect. The world is a lesser place without Paul Westphal. Rest In Peace, coach.
