Croatian big man Luka Samanic, 24, is in advanced talks with Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, sources tell BasketNews.
Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul have officially announced the mutual departure of big man Luka Samanic, who has been in his home country of Croatia for personal reasons.
Luka Samanic’s stay at Fenerbahce is over even before he played a game in the jersey of the Turkish champions. The Istanbul club made it official, but stated that they’ve kept the rights to Samanic until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Keith Smith: As part of their moves yesterday, the Utah Jazz renounced the free agent rights to Luka Samanic. Utah waived Taevion Kinsey from his two-way deal and signed Oscar Tshiebwe. The Jazz also signed Babacar Sane to a training camp contract, as was previously reported as agreed to.
Luka Samanic has officially signed a one-year deal with Fenerbahce. A power forward or centre, the class of 2000 from Zagreb comes from a season with the Jazz where he produced an average of 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds with the Utah Jazz.
Despite recent rumors linking Luka Samanic to Baskonia, Fenerbahce is currently considered the frontrunner to sign the player, another source told BasketNews. Samanic spent the last season with the Utah Jazz in the NBA, averaging 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 43 games. During his time in the NBA, Samanic has also played for the San Antonio Spurs.
