Sam Dekker: Good ole fashioned ass-whooping. Overseas hoops a different animal my guy. There’s a reason G-League is all 18-22 year-olds. It’s not good hoop and it’s all kids.

Dekker returned to the United States in late May and has had NBA tryouts with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks. “I know the landscape of the NBA,’’ he said confidently. “Right now, I’m way better at basketball than I was then (as a rookie in Houston or three years ago in Toronto). “I’m way better mentally. There isn’t anything I haven’t seen or haven’t had to figure out. The approach now is to go in there and be super aggressive and stand out instead of fitting in. “Early in my career, I didn’t want to step on many toes, so I fit in too much. So now I’m just trying to stand out the way I learned to do overseas. “If there’s a third time around in the NBA, I don’t think anything would be too big mentally for me. It would just be, ‘Here’s Sam Dekker — the most improved version that you’ve seen.’’’
